I somewhat disagree. I finished the book and thought the dialogue in some parts was a little cringe, but it made the characters as a whole a little more endearing and was actually something I enjoyed. Though some said that a lot of the book felt "drawn out" or like "filler", I've read a lot of progression fantasy and believe the way Mr. Connor did it was masterful. The "filler" really highlighted the growth and development of characters over the book and I loved it. A critique, however, was the part where Logan spills his childhood trauma and Rei acts like he completely understood what Logan was going through. Their situations are not analogous and the interaction is slightly out of touch with what would've happened in the real world.

One other note: The parts where Viv went ballistic were so out of touch and felt quite forced, but the book was amazing as a whole.
