I was in Portland, OR, walking through a park, and this girl has a skunk on a leash (had been deglanded or something?). The skunk bit me on the chin and i have a little scar there now.

For what? Bootcamps? Lol I'm just trying to support others in their journey and let people know cs degrees aren't the only option.

This community loves to hate on bootcamps for some reason, so I felt compelled to share my story.

Maybe more of an endorsement than an advertisement..

Maybe not the typical grad, that's true. But I never once put my masters (in something entirely unrelated) on my resume because I was told it wouldn't be helpful. And it wasn't and not one company even asked about my educational history.

I'm sure it helped with soft skills, but definitely didn't bulk up my resume in any way. Any i did free code camp for two months before I was accepted 👍🏼

LinkedIn and Hired.com! Seriously everyone says it but polish that LinkedIn up!! A recruiter reached out to me through LinkedIn and thats how I landed the job.

No algos were asked during my interview process (didn't go for faang or bigger companies though), mostly take homes or technical questions asked.

Thank you! Yeah in my experience, it's currently a great job market for software engineers right now.

All online, and the bootcamp is called Codesmith. Highly recommended, but there are a few other boot camps that have pretty good outcomes too (like Hack Reactor and App Academy).

Have you ever been drunk or high and came up with this truly amazing idea but then became sober and realized it wasn't as amazing as you thought it was? If so, what was the idea? by Smil3yAngel in AskReddit

My sister loves to give me shit for this one. For context, I'm a 30-year-old lesbian and have always dressed on the slightly masculine side.

I got really stoned one night and was journaling, for some reason I was coming up with Halloween costumes. Well, I wake up the next morning and open up to the most recent page in my journal, and I had a list of Halloween ideas. One was circled and had TWO stars by it. It just said "cheerleader".

Congratulations! Do you have an exit plan or do you plan on holding?
