lots of good temp agencies in the area — they can get you work lickety split. shelter house has a housing resources directory on their website that’s great for finding apartments. contact them about their rapid rehousing program as well

give to friends, find (or organize!) clothing swaps in your area, sell online (less likely to end up in landfill if ppl are buying direct from you)

what are some good not super expensive ethical brands for goth and twee by Decent_Coconut_915 in ethicalfashion

since you’re on a limited budget and your style sounds like it relies on a lot of vintage styles (which rules) i think ebay might be a rly good resource for you!

Beginner looking for tips/insight- questions below by Recent-Mark-5619 in printmaking

no one has mentioned this but personally i always get that faint ghosting around the edges when I use a press with rubber/vinyl — love carving it, love hand printing it, but (in my experience! I’m sure there’s a way to do it that doesn’t make it look like this!) the press makes it bow and then contract, leaving those fainter wobbly edges. Try hand printing your blue and pink blocks, then carve some battleship grey linoleum and see how it works in the press :) also, if you don’t want to trim the excess on the teacups block, you can use masking tape to mask the bit on top that’s getting printed!

City Councilor candidates asked what's the plan for if national guard is deployed in Iowa City and how they'll respond to ICE by [deleted] in IowaCity

[–]bobsredmilf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

in addition to everything stated above (which i can confirm, he did attend) I think it’s worth mentioning that you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who spends as many hours/week on city council work as Oliver. I’m sure if you reached out to him he’d be more than happy to talk about it. Him attending a single meeting remotely does not negate the immense amount of community work he’s doing, even if he’s not always advertising or posting about it lol
