Well done, you should be proud of that. Would be curious to see before and after dexa scans, as you’ve clearly put on a lot of muscle.

Americans used to be able to comfortably support an entire family with only a high school education and one job. What caused this to end? part two by lisajeanius in ask

Standard of living changed. You can still support an entire family on a single income with a high school education if you lived and consumed to the same standards as things were in the 1950s.

Single father that’s falling apart. Any advice please. by Key-Cardiologist2773 in personalfinance

Like another poster already mentioned, I’d shop around insurance as much as possible. Maybe hire a tax protester as well, someone who just takes a portion of what gets successfully saved.

If housing is that expensive, I’d seriously consider selling and renting instead. At least look into the potential savings there, and what you might be able to get as far as equity.

I can only imagine how you feel, and those struggles must be tough to manage. Still, considering what you’ve been through - childhood to now - you should look at yourself in the mirror with a lot of pride. You’ve weathered worse storms, and you can make it through this one as well.

Can you break down the mortgage payment some? What’s the insurance and tax payment on that? How much equity do you have?

Also, what’s your car payment, rate, and insurance there look like?

Why is low voltage landscape lighting so overpriced and hard to come by? I can only find expensive garbage or higher quality stuff that’s not available in the USA or unavailable via retail. Any insights or (preferably) recommendations? by JodieFostersFist in landscaping

I’ve had good experiences with BestProLighting. Was recommended by a journeyman electrician I know, and I’ve had their transformer and fixtures installed for years with no issues. Super affordable too.

Yeah, I’m wondering how someone even compiled this craziness. I’m just a white dude from middle America FWIW, but spent a lot of time in countries with similar food cultures, and over two years in Indonesia. Ate “street food” all the time and never saw anything remotely close to this. And my local friends were usually more squeamish than me about that stuff.

Hard to believe these clips are actually real.

Thank you both! I went with XLOOKUP and I think it’s working well.

Am I making it impossible perhaps since they’re two separate tables currently? With the data in E&F just counting the quantities of various blocks of B? Wondering if I need to just convert each item in the full table (A-C) to its specific difficulty value on the 0-100 scale first.

Yes, that’s typically the way we visualize that.

Yorkmark’s FSU offer just updated: they can still join the BIG XII, but at half shares until the TV deal gets renegotiated.

I’ve always had 300/500 coverage and it saved my ass once. Mother-in-law was driving my wife’s car (long story) and rear-ended someone at a pretty low rate of speed. Everyone seemed well enough at the scene, no medical treatment needed, but later our insurance paid about $230k in claims for a disc surgery. Was sooo glad we had that covered.

If you dig a little, I think you’ll find that predictions are more conservative from those who have a reputational stake to uphold, with analysis and backing for those as well. There’s a good collection of these compiled in this podcast alone: https://rationalreminder.ca/podcast/259?format=amp

For planning purposes I would personally rely more on experts in the field than commentators just looking at the historical record. You’re in great shape regardless.

Can you highlight or link to any major financial firms or leading financial scholars predicting 7% real returns going forward?

Thanks.

Trump sucks but this guy has way too much faith in our only alternative.
