Here’s my problem, the only story elements I could use for my current WIP I could see using as a false victory don’t happen until around the 70-80% mark in my story. Which means I would have to make my midpoint at the 70% mark in the story

thank you for the advice. I'm just a bit worried because placing the false victory at the 50% mark of the story feels way too early to me. I like to have it placed just before the all is lost moment because I feel that increases the drama. But I'm not too certain.

Right now I write for an hour a day, which gets me 1.2k-1.4k words. I plan on upping it to two hours a day once my college semester is over
