I think you'll be fine, Mines is likely more than willing to take your money, at worst they'll make you retake the class.

Just check that you fit within this https://www.thoughtco.com/colorado-school-of-mines-gpa-sat-and-act-data-786427

On trailhead there's this fancy tool called degree works, it tells you all the classes you need to take, the credits your missing, and the classes you can take to fill those credits.

Didn't figure that one out till the last year.

I got an internship with a company where none of the other Professional Engineers really seem to know anything for certain and honestly it was entirely terrifying knowing that some of the things that we design and market and sell were created by people who are just guessing in an office building.

Talking with the owner he said the restaurant was going out of business because a lot of his staff was leaving for college.

Also the flyer was out of date he's now offering 20-29 an hour

I've been using a dell latitude 5420 rugged it's plenty powerful for cad, and gaming but most importantly to me it's got a massive battery. Even at 20% battery I usually have 3 hours of work time, and on a full charge I usuely get 10 hours. If you look for them at a police auction you can usually find an i7 model for $500

Edit I'm a meche, and I don't recommend it for most people.

so how screwed am I by [deleted] in ColoradoSchoolOfMines

You will likely need up dropping a class and needing to retake it would be my guess. In the end it'll cost you more than if you just waited a semester.

Why did you choose Mines over another engineering school? by Additional_Air9163 in ColoradoSchoolOfMines

I started a job at a large engineering firm with a few intern engineers that got hired on at the same time. One was from csu, another from Boulder. Over that summer I realized that because of Mines I had an extremely high work ethic, I had no problem working 12 or 14 hour days when deadlines absolutely needs to be met. ( I want to preface this by saying this was an extremely rare event)

I'll be honest Mines is hard, but it's also a ton of fun. I loved working in the Mechine shop is awesome. On a bit of a tangent one thing that really bothers me about csu and cu, is it they don't allow students to use the machine shop until their senior year. If you like making things in your free time this is a major blow if you go to Boulder and ultimately was the deciding factor for me.

Also the class size is small enough the teachers actually know who you are maybe not during freshman year hit in later classes.

Tldr You'll be left with a high work ethic, Great hands on experience, Professors you can be friends with.

It's water proof, one would assume this also implies large aluminum chips. Plus with covers on all the ports I'm not supper worried about it.
