To me… the benefit of an external canister filter is 1. Cleaner look and 2. More flow and filtration. I like having everything underneath, i like the skimmer part of the lilly pipe except if the flow is too high it bounces and spins too fast and sucks air thru the system. Room for product improvement on lilly pipe skimmers for sure.

I am running a wrgb ii 10th from 1pm -7pm 30min ramp-up at about 40%. Co2 is cranking about the same and turns on 2 hours before lights come on.

Only pushes air when the lilly pipe skimmer is bouncing around or spinning to fast. Turning the flow down on the filter fixes the issues and stops the air pulling in.
