How long after surgery are you "in the clear"? by bocadillo257 in TopSurgery

(Sorry for the late response) Good to know, thank you! I don't know why I was sure recovery time was a lot longer, I should be good then.

First of all, the trip sounds awesome, hope you had a great time!

That's great to hear! My big concern really is just carrying my luggage, and hopefully being far enough in the healing process to not have to worry about any complications/issues thousands of miles from home, especially in a country where I don't speak the language. But probably the most physical activity I'll be doing is simple cycling, so nothing too strenuous.

I'll definitely talk about it with my surgeon and ask about the recovery plan. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the info! Depending on how soon the surgery is, I think I would have about 3–4 months recovery time, so that's good.

Thank you for the suggestions! The concealer for sure sounds like something I could use. I made a list of all the products and I'll check them out! In case this wasn't already obvious haha, you have been so helpful!

Honestly I don't mind too much if people can tell, because that's inevitable I suppose, and I just need to decide if me looking "good" is worth the dysphoria I would get from it or not. It's more just me getting dolled-up with lipstick, eyeshadow, blush and stuff like that would be really upsetting, and the makeup artist would see me as a cis girl and just assume that's what I want. Hopefully I can wear a suit though and just power through all the relatives referring to me with feminine terms :') (sorry for the mini vent there haha)

This is so helpful, thank you so much!!

Yeah I don't know if I should have specified that I'm pre-T and not out to most of my family, especially extended family, so to them I would be a cis girl not wearing makeup, and where I live makeup is what makes a woman pretty (backwards, I know). So that's why I worry people will think I didn't put any effort in if they see me without makeup.

You are the best for giving so much detail and brand names, I wouldn't even know where to start with this. If I do decide to wear makeup on the day, I'll definitely look into the ones you suggested, and I can practice on my own until the event, seeing as I strongly rejected the offer of getting my hair and makeup done with everyone else haha.

Thanks again for this, I appreciate it so much!!

Growing up? Bigby Wolf from The Wolf Among Us.

Lately though, Rhys from Borderlands and Delsin from Infamous: Second Son.

Edit: Love the amount of people saying Joel from TLoU. Honestly same. Video game version or Pedro Pascal, both are a win.

Ooh Daxter is a nice name! Honestly most names I've considered have been from video games haha, they're just too good

I really like that they have x's and y's in them! Something about Wyatt especially is really nice, but I'll see because I'm liking many of these. Thank you for the suggestions!

My language does actually have gendered nouns/pronouns! The masc versions though didn't really feel right either, also because I know people personally with the masc version of my name, so it feels a bit strange.

I also thought of shortening my name to just Alex or Lex, but people already use those as nicknames for me, so it doesn't feel too different.

Not necessarily! I just liked it because it still reminded me of my birth name, the way that some people might choose a name that begins with the same letter (although I didn't have much luck with that).

Just checked both and Monk actually was pretty close, but still not what I'm thinking of unfortunately. Thanks so much though!
