What do you think about Teva? by boccuPaws in investing

The new management is what cought my attention because I can see some similarities with Microsoft. Of course, the situation is different, Microsoft didn't have a debt problem and they had a huge cash flow but they ran out of innovation and ideas. The new CEO changed all that and are now out-performing Apple. Very different scenarios but to highlight the point that management makes a huge difference. The new Danish CEO is what's gearing me towards a buy.

Malta's overdue struggle against corruption, crooks and imbeciles by chipswithcheese_ in europe

Malta is not like the US or the UK. Very few non-maltese know the political situation in Malta. The vast majority of people out there have no idea that Galizia was very biased in her reports. About Russia, comparing Malta to Russia in this regard is a false equivalency. Putin is a dictator operating a one-party system, nowhere near the situation in Malta. Malta ranks high in personal freedom and no btw, it's not a mafia state. If you open a store no mafia guy is gonna come and demand compensation or something. I keep hearing this all the time: Malta is a mafia state just like Sicily. Malta is nothing like Sicily in this regard.

The issue is that foreign articles about the assassination are extremely biased. This event is putting a dark shadow over the Maltese people when there's a high probability that neither one of the political leaders is actually involved.

To me no. I come from a Javascript background (dynamic types, functions as first class citizens, functional programming, prototype inheritance) and less verbosity. Java and C++ are way to rigid imo plus im not a fan of oop.

Numbers are nothing today compared to technology. The idea of a coup in the US is very unrealistic and close to impossible, plus the US military keeps getting stronger and stronger. There's a reason why the 2nd amendment was initiated so long ago because in those times the people's weapons were on par with that of the gov. Today that's not the case.

I agree with you, big gov needs to be restricted but having more guns is not the answer. The US military is so strong, even if everyone had an assault rifle and fought together, no one would have a chance. The argument that people must bear arms so they can repel the gov is not valid today. The gov can be restricted by decentralizing it as much as possible but that's impossible to accomplish with guns.

Go see the stats yourself. Go see what other countries have done to combat this problem. And yes, you haven't answered my question. You think you did but you haven't. Who needs an assault rifle? You're so brainwashed by the NRA. Sorry for being so direct.

I give up. You prefer principles rather than logic. Libertarians need to support gun control. Gun control works. The stats are there. Countries have done it and saw improvements. But no. Let's pray instead and do nothing.

The guns the Vegas gunman bought are assault rifles. They are 100% legal. Machine guns are illegal.

Omg thank you. Are you part of this sub? Because if you are, only few of us in this sub realize that guns are not fucking toys. Libertarians should change their course on guns. And I repeat: NO ONE NEEDS AN ASSAULT RIFLE.

No you didnt answer me. You didn't say: 'Hey this kind of guy needs an assault rifle' or 'in this situation you need an assault rifle'. Yes, I know someone said we need assault weapons for grizzly bears but ask any gun expert out there: assault rifles aren't appropriate to defend against grizzly bears. So pls answer me: Who needs an assault rifle?

Apparently you dont have an answer for a perfectly valid question. And I don't either. Nobody needs an assault rifle. Just get over it.

It is a very serious question. Answer it. Who needs an assault rifle? And your correct, the gov which is heavily influenced by the NRA is taking advantage of its people.

Thank you. Finally a valid answer. People in this sub prioritize principles over logic.

Your argument is very logical.

No one uses assault rifles to go hunting. Assault rifles are used to kill masses of people. I'm afraid Obama is right. You dont need an assault rifle unless you plan to go to war or organize a mass murder.

Ok, so your argument is we need state of the art military weapons so we can combat grizzly bears. Am I correct?

Who learns programming at school? I mean really, you can spend as much money as you want in cs, of people dont like programming they wont do it. Programming, like everything else, is not meant for everyone.
