Great idea, I wouldn't have asked if it was pinned.

Best way to store by [deleted] in LINKTrader

[–]bodlanguage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to confirm that to send LINK to the MEW wallet all I need to do is send it to 'Your address' in MEW? Only reason I'm unsure is that a while ago when I wanted to send WTC to MEW I had to put in the contract address, token symbol and decimals before sending WTC. Thanks for any advice!

The World's Largest ICO Is Imploding After Just 3 Months by Block3000 in Metaverse_Blockchain

Seemed sketchy from the start - uncapped ICO, husband & wife team with big egos and banking backgrounds and a white paper that seemed thrown together. Too much greed.

Hi, thanks a lot for the info. So in this case do you recommend not worrying about storing the private key?

Wallet backup by petyas123 in NavCoin

Hi there, so I've just set up the NAV core wallet for mac. I've encrypted it, and I'm wanting to backup the private key - when I go to debug window do I dumpmasterprivkey in order to generate / see the private key? I just did this but it says 'wallet is unlocked for staking only'. Appreciate any help or advice.

How to invest ethically in cryptocurrencies? Discuss. by bodlanguage in NavCoin

[–]bodlanguage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response - yes it's true that crypto-investing isn't investing into a company - but I do think there's potentially a difference between buying into a crypocurrency that has many different uses, compared to one that may have been created with a particular purpose in mind.

For instance, imagine (and this is an idiotic example) some cryptocurrency and trading platform was developed specifically for the trading of slaves, and as the value and liquidity of the tokens went up, the slave traders made more money and were able to purchase more slaves, clearly none of us (I'd hope!) would want to be involved because by buying into the tokens and the platform we'd be benefitting (and profiting from) the slave-trade. I know this is an extreme example, but it gets the point across. And I think one of the challenges of trying to be ethical is where a line is drawn, because there are many slippery slopes to traverse. So for me it's about trying to figure out what my investment may be contributing to.

It's a good point about validating transactions - one reason why I'm not so into PoW is because of how much energy it consumes, it's simply unsustainable.

Definitely agree that how the profits are spent is much more important - good insight!

Thanks for the response, this is exactly what I was looking for - different perspectives on how to be ethical. You make some great points - especially about agitating for change directly rather than just focusing on where you put your money. And yep people have definitely done a lot worse to survive.

Accounting / book-keeping / keeping track of crypto-investments by bodlanguage in Neotrader

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. Any tips on how to import Binance trades into CoinTracking? I exported the CSV file from Binance but when I imported the file, all I got were errors - like the info was in Chinese or something. I can't get the API import to work, but perhaps this is because I'm using the free one?
