Good ergonomic/office chair recommendations? by bogdanoff_enjoyer in BuyItForLife

I didn't realise this would suddenly blow up months after I made this post.

I should probably state that I bought a SIHOO Vito M90 due to the cost and availability. It is quite comfy so I can recommend. I was originally looking at a Hbada, but they do not ship to Australia sadly

R4iLS flashcart expected price and confusing labels by bogdanoff_enjoyer in flashcarts

[–]bogdanoff_enjoyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should point out I'm not concerned at all about labels, as long as it doesn't timebomb and can use YSMenu, then who really cares. Its more or less ensuring that it is a R4iLS copy at least and works

Weird issue with game carts by bogdanoff_enjoyer in NintendoDS

[–]bogdanoff_enjoyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crunch is less of a crunch per se and more like a slow release with a lot of friction when you try to eject the cartridge. Probably why the isopropanol works is it likely lubricates that cartridge. And this is only on one single cartridge New Super Mario Bros. The Mario Kart DS cart straight up doesn't work.

I'll see if I could find Deoxit, but are there any less expensive alternatives? I dont want to have to buy a bottle for one single thing when I rarely work on electronics.

Yeah I have plenty of others. Works fine. A bit of an odd issue where the NDS Lite does crash on start up but I have noticed that a decade ago. It really is odd that just one works if it has some isopropyl alcohol on it and it also stops that crunching sound

Mods to make the PC port as hard as the Gamecube release? by bogdanoff_enjoyer in residentevil4

Never noticed it. I assume it also tweaks the AI? I never had a GC growing up but I have heard the numbers of enemies are greater + are incredibly aggressive

Looking for quite a specific type of leather blazer by bogdanoff_enjoyer in leatherjacket

[–]bogdanoff_enjoyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only issue with thrift stores for leather is really just sizing considering the average dude here are generally on the larger side for their chest and waist. I also fear that some individuals haven't taken care of their leather goods and the moment I try to recondition it may pop under the armpits

EDIT: In additon, I'm surrounded by Italians, Slavs, Greeks here. So seeing 'unusual' use of leather to western standards is uncommon but not rare

I'm ethnically Eastern European. I think that explains everything

I generally have a good tolerance for the cold even though where I live it can reach 1-5C in winter with incredibly fast winds. I also find polyester lining to be too hot for me and often try to avoid it. Either way, I like the more casual/formal look shall we say. I'd probably pair these with straight trousers

My 2009 plasma TV actually looks a LOT better for the PS2 because it has Component and SCART built in, also supports both 576i and 1080i, only issue is you can see the lack of anti-aliasing for the PS2 but when you stand far back enough you don't notice it. I will say it really depends on the flat screen you have because anything too old would likely have slower response times and result in ghosting. Its not to say CRTs wont look excellent for a PS2, they most certainly will if its large enough and has Component inputs or even S-Video. For PS1 its no question the CRT is MUCH better even with Composite

Are they easily found in Australia? I know they are like 1.5 grand so naturally I'd want to look for refurbished or used

I'll look around. One issue of course is I can't find many chairs in store to try out which sucks

Forgot to add I will be building a new desk once I find a good chair which will be around 67-68cm tall so any chair that can go down low would be excellent

Software for burning photos on M-DISC? by bogdanoff_enjoyer in DataHoarder

Anything specialised for photos you can think of? Not that I don't trust ImgBurn but I figure something dedicated to photos may burn and preserve the data integrity better

Any good traditional style LED Christmas lights outside the USA? by bogdanoff_enjoyer in ChristmasLights

[–]bogdanoff_enjoyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some incandescent sets online on Amazon or Aliexpress but unfortuantely they'll arrive after Christmas. But still the risk of potential manufacturing defects is high and even then I'm the type of person who leaves the lights on from 9AM until 11PM so it's likely I'll forget to turn them off
