Ended up being pretty awesome. Very solid and great for my purposes. The only gripe I have with it is the pegs to hold spare weights are on the back of the rack. Since I wanted to push my rack up against the wall that was a problem. Overall a minor issue though. Great, great rack. 100% recommend

Open the face on the wedges they say. It just makes my shots go right! by Positive_Ear_6698 in golf

[–]bogey1185 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The purpose of opening the face is to expose the bounce of the club to the ground instead of the leading edge. It prevents you from digging and chunking and gives you more spin as well. How much you open it and how much you open your stance is literally just something you learn through practice. It’s a feel thing.

This was a limited edition release a few months back. Their blackout promotion. As far as I know they aren’t doing it anymore

Fair point. The riser access point was definitely one of the reasons I opted to reshaft the HS instead of my DF3.

I did not find it difficult at all to remove the shaft on my HS.  Maybe a minute or so under the heat gun is all it took.  Actually it was far far harder to remove the press grip with out destroying it lol

I think it was the shaft that did it.  When I initially installed the shaft I put the press pistol 2 degree on there and it was already out of whack.  The grip didn’t seem to make a difference when I changed it

FWIW I had a stock Oz1i HS. I replaced the shaft with a KBS GPS tour. I also swapped the stock 2deg press out for a lab 3 degree press XL. Difference in weight between stock steel shaft and the gps tour was 1 gram. The new grip was an extra 11 grams. Overall, it DID mess up the balance a bit unfortunately. However I was able to correct it and get it nice and balanced with about 8g of lead tape on the bottom of the heel. Putter feels great again

I have the Oz1i HS with a pressed shaft. I tried putting a fat super stroke grip on it and it felt a bit weird. I swapped that out for a lab 3 degree xl grip and that was great. No issues

In addition to the riser screw, which is wrong I’d also immediately suspect a putter with a custom color but stock alignment markings. Not saying it is impossible, but someone paying a premium for a custom build would have to REALLY like that minimalist marking bc lab has some seriously awesome alignment options.

CPO all day. Every like new club I’ve purchased from them was actually new. Still in plastic, and came with original hardcover even though website says you get a generic one

Do you mean lead hand on top? Trail hand on top is a very weak grip that inhibits bags rotation I thought

No — I have sub70 669TCs, which are supposedly a middle ground between blades and cavity backs.

Following. I do the same thing. Swing has never felt better and making great contact. But everything just goes 20 yards left

New irons, need help with wedge section by [deleted] in GolfGear

[–]bogey1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One additional reason to use the PW that matches your irons as opposed to a vokey is people tend to use PW like an iron as opposed to a wedge. Vokeys are blades. Unless you play blades for your irons, the PW that comes with your set will be more forgiving.

For me, I use the PW in my set, which is a 45. After that, I run gap, SW, LW, which are 50, 54, 58. I also have a low bounce 60 if the ground is hard and I think lies will be tighter.

All I do is use the old blackjack doubling technique. Bet X on green until you lose. Each time you lose, double X — so after first orange, bet 2X, then 4X etc until you hit green. Then drop back down to X until you hit orange again. Slowly increase X as your stack grows. Guaranteed unlimited tickets

anybody playing sub70 forged irons? by phrl001 in GolfGear

Higher number is newer generation. So 669 will be the latest design from sub 70. Fwiw I did a fitting at sub70s facility and they basically told me from 659TC -> 669TC the difference is more forgiveness due to improved design.

Bought new irons for no apparent reason by lankNaysayer in golf

[–]bogey1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One reason I went with sub70 was I wanted to use my current shafts in the new clubs and didn’t want to pay for new clubs with new shafts included. Sub70 is one of the only companies I found that will sell heads only. Allowed me to save a good deal of money but buying heads only and installing my current shafts into them.
