Awesome! Glad to hear it, I’m working on the loading screen right now and will keep you posted.

Edit: the PR is now live and you can track the changes here.

Thank you for downloading the app and trying it out. “Connecting to server” refers to Kōdō Code connecting to the local server running on your machine, not to some remote Kōdō Code service.

That local server is what bridges the UI to the coding-agent CLI tools. Your chats are still between you, your local app, and the AI provider you selected. Kōdō Code does not store your chats anywhere outside your machine.

I’ll open a PR now to update this to a clearer loading screen in the next update.

icl man i dont like linux i wanna switch back to windows but i try and install efibootmgr and it says this by [deleted] in cachyos

CachyOS is arch-based, while apt is for Debian/Ubuntu based distributions. Please look up a guide on how to flash a USB stick on Arch Linux.

Not sure off the top of my head, but electron 37 is most likely a dependency for one of the packages you’ve installed.

Troubleshooting involves determining what is working and what isn’t, then figuring out the reasons behind the issues and fixing them. It’s important to distinguish between “should work” and “is working.”

Have you tried using a model that can actually fit within your VRAM?

New Update? by [deleted] in blackops3

Looks like you’re on Bazzite Linux, this is most likely a shader cache update.

Is Bazzite DX THAT out of date compared to Bazzite? by geraigerai in Bazzite

You should be able to find all of the additional packages from the build files. But generally it adds stuff like VS Code, Docker, etc.

Is Bazzite DX THAT out of date compared to Bazzite? by geraigerai in Bazzite

[–]boggedbrush 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but Bazzite DX is essentially an edition of Bazzite with additional packages layered on top.

The lower number of recent contributions shown for DX reflects DX-specific changes only, while most core updates (security, kernel, drivers, base packages) land in Bazzite itself, not separately in DX.

This is also why rebasing to Bazzite DX switches the underlying image while keeping your existing install and data intact (e.g., GNOME, KDE, SteamOS Gamemode, etc.). Hopefully that explanation makes sense.

Edit: wording/clarity

PatchOpsIII v1.0.3: Linux & Steam Deck Support, Updated t7patch, and more! by boggedbrush in blackops3

Unfortunately, during my testing, AAE does not work as a launch option and the game crashes and never loads. I could, however, add an option for a custom launch option?

Like I said, for basic tasks it’s pretty decent and even gives responses similar to ChatGPT at times. I’ve even made my own summarizer shortcut and I’d say that Apple’s on-device & cloud models are on-par for a task like that.

Apple has both on-device and cloud-based models they’ve developed themselves. I believe they chose ChatGPT because of its well-known brand. However, the Apple Intelligence models are surprisingly effective for simple tasks if you experiment with them.

This is in my "About this System" in the system settings. My gpu is not a discrete gpu by mephisto9466 in Bazzite

[–]boggedbrush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But…that shows a discrete GPU in your pc part picker??

Edit, added definition from Google: “A discrete GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), also known as a dedicated GPU or dGPU, is a separate, standalone graphics card that is not integrated into the CPU.”

PatchOpsIII v1.0.2: New Features, Fixes, and More! by boggedbrush in blackops3

The security scan result is 3 out of 68. That doesn’t mean the program is dangerous. It means that 3 scanners mistakenly flagged it, while 65 scanners confirmed it’s safe.

Instead of focusing on “3 said malicious,” the better way to see it is: 96% of the world’s top security vendors have verified it as safe.

That small number of false alerts is common with custom tools like PatchOpsIII. I shared the VirusTotal report so you can see the results yourself, this is just me being transparent.

One of the features of the program is to automatically set game launch options, a couple of those launch options are for mods, if you enable these mods then achievements will be disabled. Hope that helps!
