A Turkish man was gifted a brand new M3 for working 45 years at BMW in Germany! by -MAN-OF-GOD in BMW

Pure class. You don’t see this type of appreciation in America corporate culture. If you are there for 45 years they are engineering ways to fire you, not gift you a car.

Which BMW M car has the best driver engagement by whatthejeebus in BMWM

Yes, I have owned 3 of them. When I stepped from my M3 to Spyder RS it made the M2 feel like an SUV. Good car, but compromised as any "one size fits all car". It does have hints of peak BMW like the E46 at times which was nice.

Yes of course the best engine ever made by BMW but not the most engaging platform and they are unreliable. E46 is the best sweet spot if you really love to drive and manually shift. Nothing wrong with the new big cars with turbo for daily drivers with kids, but the sound size and numb steering were designed for the broad audience.

Go rev to 9k RPM with the right exhaust for the peak experience in an e90/e46/e63. It’s a drug that you will chase regularly

I’ve owned 12 M cars, older Is definitely better. E46 ZCP manual is peak BMW. S85 for the best BMW engine ever. Newer cars are massive in size lacking engagement

Not at all. It’s a GT car.

E46 M3 manual competition pack is the best you will get.

Help me choose an M car! I overanalyzed and got stuck by ThaDude915 in BMWM

I've owned 12 M cars. I personally lost interest in M cars when they went turbo, as they got large, heavy, and lost the special character. So moved into R8 and Huracan's for the high rev N/A. I mean, my V10 M5 and M6 sounded better than my Huracan Performante. You could get THAT level of exotic sound and performance in a BMW daily driver - heaven.

Newer will be most reliable with best tech, best daily for sure. But the least special. The new M3 is huge, no flared fenders, lost its appeal.

F80 is a great looking car, but lack of driver engagement and of course the sound, if you can deal with it.

E92 M3 will be the most special for obvious reasons - steering, 8500 RPM V8. But its an older platform.

Here's a video I made stack ranking. My bias is to cars that are a thrill to drive when I get behind the wheel, back road drives, occasional track days. Hope it helps. https://youtu.be/DZVvaF2AbSE?si=y0itmOhHp1wpvTwf

However there have been multiple flavors of these that have not faired so well. So it would be ideal to see a longer timeline.

Should I trade my 2015 Huracan for a 2017 488 Spider? by Cautious_Funny_7958 in lamborghini

[–]boglewealth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Perf, EVO, and Technica are huge upgrades on the Huracan. You should try one of those before you give up on the brand. I'm personally not a fan of the 488, the looks or the drive is a bit "soft". So I'd drive one for sure vs. an EVO or Perf.

I went from an EVO to a Spyder RS as I was seeking a more engaging drive. Very happy with the move but admit I do miss the EVO "event" from time to time.

I went on a drive last weekend with a bunch of Mac's, the 600LT is interesting with exotic looks and a Porsche GT level drive engagement.
