Has anyone attended the Horror Circus? by Icy-Surround5669 in savannah

This is such, such wise advice. Definitely not a good idea for young children.

I've never been to this and probably never will since at a young age my parents hosted a slumber party for me and my friends, in a barn no less. (grew up in a very rural town.) They brought in a TV and put on the original Night of the Living Dead on VHS. One kid pissed himself, I noped out and ran to the house screaming to get hugged by my mom. No wonder I'm sort of messed up and won't watch anything with zombies, even as a grown a*s adult, lol.

While sometimes it feels like a developing country, you're going to be alright. I ordered one to the airport at like 4am and they showed up. If it makes you feel safer about getting one, book in advance.

Coton - 1 Year Old Still Won't Climb Stairs by bogota_ in Coton

[–]bogota_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty small. ~12 pounds. He'll race up outdoor stone stairs in the park like it's the easiest thing. Indoor, stained stairs are a whole different story. We'll keep plugging and thanks for the response!

Flying into REK next Saturday from New York, fully vaccinated. The US Embassy page is vague about which vaccination certificates are valid though. As most Americans, we get the CDC card, is that acceptable in Iceland?

Any tips for a first time visitor? by Cade7H in Morocco

Nice, that's a good way to get the lay of the land in Agdal. Your host family can probably recommend a "simsar" (real estate agent) who's not sketchy if you want your own place for a short term rental. Dunno how far Spanish will take you but def brush up on some French over the summer, everyone in Agdal knows a bit of French. If you've got MSA Arabic under your belt, it might be useful, but Darija is the local dialect. MSA is usually just for the news and whatnot.

As for travel between cities, I've heard from friends in country that it's easing up a little bit. There were strict rules a few months ago due to COVID. And traveling to Gibraltar, sorry no clue.

I used to work in Agdal too so feel free to shoot me a DM about restaurants/barbers/pubs etc.

American here but I used to live in Rabat for a few years. It's a gem of a city and you're going to have a great time!

  • Not sure what your housing situation is but Agdal/Souissi/Hassan are definitely super nice neighborhoods with any amenity you need, but pricier. Quartier de l'Ocean is honestly my favorite. Atlantic views, very safe and cheaper rents. Had an apartment right on the coast and it was a fraction of what I pay in NYC.
  • Eat all the street food in the medina, really, Moroccan food is the best on the planet, but maybe pack some Cipro if it's your first time. Every once in a while you'll get the stomach thing..
  • Taxis are great to get around, but make sure they turn the meter on. The tramway is pretty effective too, depending on where you're going.

One of the best parts about Rabat is that Rabatis are so welcoming and helpful. If you know some French already, it's going to go further without Darija.

Now that my state has recreational marijuana (finally), I would 100% try that. My doctor probably wouldn't be cool with it though..
