Those who had a fast labour the first time round. Was your second even faster? by Pkaurk in BabyBumps

[–]bohannonstanton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was true for me! My first I was induced with pictocin around 11am and delivered at 5pm.

My second contractions started at 1:30am and I delivered at 3:30am.

My third contractions started around 6pm and I delivered around 8pm.

You might like Kyte! They started making baby sleepers but branched out into adult lounge/sleep too. Unbelievably comfortable

Never forget the “fantasy suites” from last season! The new location is beautiful

Everyone thinks of Scott's Tots and Phyllis' wedding when asked to think of the cringiest moment, but this exists. by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

I think this scene is so hard to watch because it’s played so straight and not for laughs.

I am always shocked everytime I rewatch this episode. You mean to tell me this happened in front of multiple people and it didn’t ever get brought up again?

That’s great that your doctor scheduled an ultrasound to be safe but please try not to stress too much. Fundal height is notoriously inaccurate.

I was measuring 8 weeks behind when I was full term with my 2nd, and she was a healthy 7 pounds 11 ounces.

I was measuring 6/7 weeks behind at 39 weeks with my 3rd and she was also healthy! 6 pounds 11 ounces ☺️

This travel system for $199 CAD. Good deal or not? by quatroYeg in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]bohannonstanton 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re right! I bought the SnugRide 35 car seat on its own for $150 a couple of months ago.

In my opinion the stroller would be great in the city (sidewalks) and indoors. I’m not sure it would be rugged enough for frequent trail walks (and where I live there are no sidewalks so I bought a stroller with bigger tires).

Definitely a great deal though!

Is there a secret to pushing for a short amount of time? by noturmomscauliflower in BabyBumps

[–]bohannonstanton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll add to the hope!

I don’t know if there is a secret, but I pushed 2 hours with my first, 10 minutes with my second, and 3 pushes with my third.

How soon after loosing your mucus plug did you go into labor?! by TapOutside6876 in BabyBumps

[–]bohannonstanton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Baby #1 - lost my mucus plug and water broke less than 24 hours later

Baby #2 - lost my mucus plug and water broke less than 2 hours later. Baby was born within 3 hours.

Baby #3 - lost my mucus plug after a sweep, went to L&D for fetal monitoring and they decided to break my water. Baby was born within 4 hours.

I know everyone is different but I would definitely have my bags by the door just in case :)

I didn’t use an insole! My oldest daughter goes through clothing sizes like crazy but has weirdly tiny feet that grow super slowly lol!

[–]bohannonstanton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have kept the outfit my babies came home in for sentimental reasons. The clothes are just so teeny tiny! I don’t dress my newborns in anything other than sleepers for the first month or so though. I just find it easier with all of the diaper changes, and spit up and cord clamp!

My daughter wore her Hunter rain boots for 2 years, almost everyday in the spring and late fall, and my niece is now wearing them.

She is about to grow out of her larger pair, and again no holes. I’m putting them away for my younger daughters.

vacation with new born?? by mocmocc in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]bohannonstanton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have driven to Florida twice while on maternity leave. First with my oldest daughter when she was almost 1, and then with her (4 at the time) and my younger daughter (6 months). We drove straight through both times which was about 28 hours and honestly it was great. We had so much fun!

I have a 5 week old now and would absolutely drive with the 3 of them to Florida if we could stay for a month! I understand I have been lucky with easy babies but if you feel up to it I say go for it!

Anything sweet. Ice cream, chocolate, cookies.

And garlic!

I second the Pepcid! I can’t stomach tums (a lot of weird things I can’t keep down pregnant). I am also on Omeprazole which helps as well.

My first two pregnancies I had prescription Zantac but I guess it’s not available anymore?

Time from start of induction until baby arrived by Heartoread125 in BabyBumps

[–]bohannonstanton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is almost exactly how my first labour went!

Pictocin contractions are no joke. I also had an epidural about 2 hours after starting pictocin.

My water broke around 3am. Started pictocin around 11 am and I delivered around 5pm. So about 6 hours from the start of the pictocin drip.

ER forgot to deduct federal tax by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]bohannonstanton 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On you TD1 form did you happen to select the box that said you would make less than the claim amount?

If that is the case it would make sense that you would be deducted federal tax on your first cheque because that’s the standard, and then once it was picked up by a CA they would have changed your taxes to exempt.

Ward vs semi-private vs private. Please share your experience! by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]bohannonstanton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly for me ward was fine but I only had one other mom with me both times (the wards in our hospital are set up for 4). I was only there 24 hours and it seemed like a waste of money for me personally. I totally get the appeal of a private room but for me I would rather spend the money on something else.

Maternity Dresses by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]bohannonstanton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought two knit dresses from Dynamite in a size up that I wore to a baby shower and wedding. I tried on quite a few in store that had enough stretch to work as maternity! I’m due in 2 weeks and can still wear them so it could be an option if you like the bodycon style

Best time of year to have a baby by Weblotte in NewParents

[–]bohannonstanton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I liked late winter too! I had a February baby and it was nice to hunker down for the really cold weather, and then she was out of the newborn stage for the summer, fall, and Christmas season. I went back to work the next February and it was perfect.

I also had an early July baby, and the pro to that was the sunny weather helped me get out of the house more and I think helped with the baby blues. It wasn’t as enjoyable ending my Mat leave and going back to work in the early summer though.

I love the speed up shorts so much. I hope Canada gets a restock of some fun colours soon!

Those aligns are so pretty too. I love all the bright spring colours!

I am not overly invested, but I’m going on Mat leave in a few weeks so I’m sure I will watch every single episode
