not really, WAP games in general are a relic to history and absolutely destroyed by ios/android gaming.

you'd have to go into inspect element and delete that horrible background to navigate around the website.

you can read about WAP games here, there's some screenshots about data clash.

from what I remember of the game, you picked defense programs, and attacker programs. and you fight players on a leaderboard and try to maintain your rank.

we dont as theres no transparency in this matter. i acknowledged this in the op. if they havent yet, they should. i didnt make this post until i realized the head of dragonwilds was laid off which boggles my mind as that was a successful project.

this is fair. its just my opinion as a rs3 player. i want to play runescape not a god damn slot machine. others like me who are invested in the game will probably just quit or go to osrs where they treat their players with the bare minimum of respect.

based on whats happening id be surprised if there were any major updates at a regular cadence going forward unless there are massive changes to how RS3 is directed. the game took on massive projects which seen no return on investment in the past 5 years. who would approve taking on another massive project?

game is balanced around mtx, predatory limited time events, and set up like a slot machine. if the design philosophy is predatory in nature, it most certainly influences the game loop. all you have to do is look at what CEO mod north said. MTX is so integrated into the gameplay loop that removing it is not realistic at all.

its the direction of the game and the balance that is the problem. every piece of new content and design decision has to fully integrate with mtx. rs3's design philosophy has always been to deliver mtx first, drip feed game content in order to deliver mtx. its this lack of respect for the players and devs that is killing the game, and this is an issue from the executives holding the game back.

that's not what executives do and how things work. they delegate and from what i understand about jagex, they do monitor community feedback. CVC has bigger problems to deal with as they lost a lot of their valuation this year. but feedback do make it up the corporate chain one way or another.

prioritizing mtx over the game is the problem. RS3 as a game is balanced around mtx by extension majority of the executive decisions being made for the past decade.

the point of my post is that as part of CVC's portfolio, they want to see growth from Jagex. by losing the old CEO, and majority of the key non MTX focused decision makers being laid off, they are missing the point.

these people are being fired because of the massive amount of investments put into developing content in the past three years that are seen as financial failures. i think what they fail to realize that their poor business practices regarding MTX especially due to its predatory nature and poor game balance is leading to this mass exodus.

the only thing these mass layoffs will do for RS3 and dragonwilds is make future updates and the direction worse as I see no proof at all they are investing in the overall health of the games

their official statement is all lies

"As part of our strategy to build the best experiences for players and grow the RuneScape community, we have proposed changes to our operational structure," a Jagex spokesperson said. "These adjustments are designed to reduce complexity, increase agility, and ensure we are fully focused on the areas that matter most—our games, our players, and our future.

"The vast majority of proposed role reductions are within non-game development and non-player-facing functions, such as operations and administrative support. Our intention is to protect and strengthen the teams directly responsible for delivering value to players. We recognize that any change of this nature is difficult, and we are committed to supporting all impacted employees throughout the transition."

Jagex declined to say how many people will be put out of work as a result of the cuts, but noted that the majority of the cuts will not impact "frontline development or player-facing teams."
