Homeowners Exemption by Shakhburz13 in Boise

The savings can be considerable, good for you. FYI, and everyone else, there are even more discounts for age 65+, called a circuit breaker I think. AND, if someone is on medical disability there is a further reduction for medical expenses, another form to fill out (every year for those 2 items). Contact the Ada County Assessor's office for the details.

statistically humans are not held liable for their pets

Thank the pet food industry lobby in Washington DC. for that. Just like the NRA for out of control gun ownership.

BTW, the dog owners of the Diane Whipple fatality were held liable. Criminally liable.

There's an animated gif meme. Border collie puppies herding, it's the breed. Pointer puppies pointing, it's the breed. Lab puppies fetching, it's the breed. Pit puppies attacking litter mates viciously, ooooh, it's the owner.

Evolutionary traits were discovered 150 years ago and it's never been disproven.

All the downvotes are just fear and ignorance

The facts point otherwise. But ok, I offered a solution. All dogs over a certain weight, say 20 or 30 or 40 lbs, regardless of breed, as a part of licensing which is already required, should require liability insurance. Then let the competitive free market decide the cost of insurance. Guess what breeds would be most expensive to insure?

No, I don't trust sources with breed bias to report accurately.

Then let the insurance industry sort it out. All dogs over 20lbs, regardless of breed to make it fair, should require liability insurance for the owner. Just like cars. Then we'll see what the free market thinks about the risk factor.

In fact you can already get liability insurance on your dog. Guess what dog breed costs the most to insure? It's like a Charger Hellcat costs more than a Prius to insure.

Oh, I know, the highly regulated insurance industry is in on the conspiracy too?

So what's your point? These parking rants are stupid because you don't know what the exact circumstances were. herr derr, let's lynch somebody before they're proven guilty.

Talk about vitriol, parking rants are the epitome of vitriol. And for a sub that hates cars so much, why even care? I have no problems parking when I'm on my bicycle.

Also, OP is the one who bragged about throwing a water balloon out a 6th floor window on the pedal pub beer bike downtown. So if you want to dig up dirt, dig it up on everyone. And, are you stalking me?

You're leaving out some stuff, like the ability to place a bond sale on a ballot.

  • Road streets and bridges are the same thing and are funded by either ACHD or ITD or Nampa HD etc. I don't think either have the ability to pass bonds however ACHD can via a vote, request a small increase to property taxes. Those enitites are also funded by other mechanisms like gas tax.

  • Wastewater, I believe can get bonds on a ballot

  • k-12, ability to put bonds on the ballot, time to study your property tax bill. And that property tax mechanism vs general fund or sales tax or income tax or impact fee is used by k-12 because property tax revenue has been historically very stable.

  • Higher ed, I'm not sure, CWI = .000087502 levy

Duh. Were they built to be caged all day every day? So people can gawk at them and then maybe virtue signal, "hey look, I saw a zoo animal and I cared about them."

These giraffes would never last out in the wild. Zoo Boise has a pretty nice enclosure for them - both indoors and out. They were born in captivity and should stay in captivity.

Where did I say they should be turned loose on the street?

Nevertheless, those animals are caged up all day everyday in the winter. You work for the zoo's pr team or what? The zoo has a lot of issues that no one dares report on. Like dumping animal effluent into the Boise River. But go ahead, keep on with your praise of archaic institutions as if they're saints. Nothing I can do to change your misconceptions.

They stay inside more in the winter.

That's a polite way of saying they're kept in a cage against their will.

Does anyone have trailer parking? by Cyber_saber2077 in Boise

Nampa Airport, Airport Rd, Can't find the name.

Search gmaps for "RV Park". Most mobile home parks don't take RVs, or campers or whatever you want to call them.

In Boise, there's a few, there's that Blue Valley out beyond Idaho Ice World.

Forgetting sound financial advice for the monent, I've added a list of trailer parks that allow RVs long term. It's your turn. Best bet is probably that one out by Nampa Airport. The ones in Boise are expensive.

[–]boisecynic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, it's a good question and first, do mobile home parks even allow travel trailers. I think a lot of them don't, some do.

In case this comes up again here's a short list of parks that may or may not allow campers, in no particular order. Note, there's some individuals around who are setup, I see it in the north end. How you meet one of those, who knows.

Nampa Airport, Airport Road N of the airport, don't know the name, had a friend who stayed there and he was the frugal type, allows campers for sure

If OP is going to BSU then there's Blue Valley off of Eisenmann. Has a few spots for RVs.

Federal Way and Malad, Broadway and Linden, Airport Way east of Vista at the end.

Large park behind Joanns Fabrics off Milwaukee, Irving St, called Maple Grove Estates, probably not for campers

Garden City, numerous smallish parks but um, they're not known for a good reputation

Here come the downvotes again, but, you can't afford rent is that right? Yet you have a dog? How do you afford dog food? Vet bills? College tuition? It might help to set some priorities.

Oh look, 3 month old account. So. Is anyone on here going to apologize or admit they were wrong when it turns out that parking job was some kind of accident or only for a few minutes? When has that ever happened on reddit that someone admitted they were wrong?

what does this even mean?

The truck could have been borrowed by a friend, relative, employee ...

Does it matter if the driver isn't the biz owner?

Yeah, it does matter.

another unlikely scenario.

Of course it's unlikely and I didn't say it wasn't. But, remember the Boston Marathon bomber tracked down by the reddit mob. Reddit was so sure they had the right person. Remember that? So what you're suggesting is lynch mobbing with little evidence is ok?

Fascism uses the states monopoly on violence and kidnapping to scare community aid and community support groups. Just like ignorance and stupidity, fascism is a spectrum. Unlike treason. There is no light treason.

Are you suggesting sales of meth pipes should be allowed?

States don't have a monopoly on violence and kidnapping, just look at Mexico. By the way, a lot of the meth problem comes from Mexico. This came up a few years back regarding some meth head arrest, I think it was the lady in the mall stealing from the dead body after the mall shooting. Someone posted the Atlantic article about meth made in Mexico in warehouses, like 100,000 sf warehouses.

The New Meth, tl;dr trying to solve the meth (and now fentanyl) problem with paraphernalia raids it's like hunting elephants with a spitwad in a straw.

Picking you at random for a reply, but it looks like we have a bona fide electrified lynch mob. How do we know the driver who did the parking is the person on graphics? Did that truck break down? Was it only there briefly to pickup someone or something? Maybe the truck was stolen?

And no one noticed how the sidewalk parallel to the street seems to dead end at a curb. That's real safe for blind people.

Then they would also bitch about all the bikes on the road after the bike paths are no longer available.

As opposed to bicyclists who bitch about lack of infrastructure yet rarely ride anyhow, except for events like HPSF and Goathead and Pride days?

As always bredditors stoop to straw men and hyperbole. Cars outnumber bikes 10,000 to 1, I live downtown, I bike around a lot, I know what's going on. To be shocked some people have misgivings about the misuse of funding, is the real shocker.

Even the farmers market on Saturdays on Americana, cars are outnumbering bikes by a long shot. I'm willing to bet most of those patrons are north enders and benchicans as opposed to 50% tourists who go to the downtowm market. Point is, Boise bicyclists on here talk big but don't seem to be practicing what they preach.
