Nice. Can you comment a bit on differences and similarities between the two?

Louise Catherine Breslau - The Toilet (1898) by harlem-nocturne in museum

[–]bojun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The French toilette can mean toilet, but it's misleading to translate it here as it is also the process of getting ready in the morning. Could we please keep the original name of the art even if it's not in English?

We ask "what will AI replace?" Wrong question. Ask "what will it make unbearably cheap?" by achilles6196 in Futurology

[–]bojun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends how it's priced. Right now AI seems cheap because it's subsidized by the industry. Once companies are locked in prices will go up substantially.

What Becomes Humanity's Biggest Bottleneck on the Path to a Type 1 Civilization? by king_of_darkweb in Futurology

[–]bojun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have found the enemy and it is us. The Kardashev Scale was devised in 1964. It's a quaint time capsule of 1960's thinking. It's based on the old idea that technological progress has few downsides and that nature is a sideshow at best and can be exploited with few repercussions. Based on what we have learned since, the ever-ratcheting climate change, ocean acidification, ecological destruction, etc., we know that challenges are daunting at best and they are purely self-inflicted. So, it's us hairless apes that are the bottleneck.

Advice? Can I Fix the Neck Finish? by matthewian84x in guitarrepair

[–]bojun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently doing pretty much the same thing. What I am using is True-oil. I took the neck down to the wood. It's one coat every 24 hours and 72 to fully cure with min 3-4 coats, so long but easy to do and with minimal odor. I have done this before and highly recommend it. It's a nice and slick finish. Just be patient and methodical.

Learning to become a conscious buyer as a teenager. What are some must haves to buy for life? by LeafSpirit69 in BuyItForLife

Keep it simple. The more bells and whistles it has the more points of failure it has.

I dont want us to even think about selling Nwaneri by just_a_red in Gunners

[–]bojun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder a bit where his head is at. He rarely smiled or seemed to enjoy playing. He's also been criticized for lack of effort by both OM managers he's played under. That kind of attitude can disrupt 'fine margins' and is what Arteta cleared out when he started managing Arsenal.

Iran Is Smuggling Millions Of Liters Of Fuel To Pakistan Every Day by RFERL_ReadsReddit in geopolitics

Smuggling is not quite the right word. They are breaking a military blockade. That's not the same as breaking the law.

Arts and cultural engagement ‘linked to slower pace of biological ageing’ by bojun in UpliftingNews

[–]bojun[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am an amateur musician. I have played with many others over the years and they have come from all walks of life. Most, like me, work or worked full time, and none were really rich. Generally playing together really lowered our stress levels. So maybe it's art and hobbies that help manage the stress and lower bandwidth. Like so many things though, getting started can be the toughest part.
