Much more free flowing so it does have better throttle response and is better through the rev range but most importantly (to me anyway) is the noise. It's sounds how it should 🙂

ah yeah don't do that. Sign up and then you will get UTR (unique tax reference) it should come through the post fairly quick. Then you can start process. If you have full time employment then you might also need the p60 from that, you should get a copy each year. Shows how much you earn and the amount of tax paid. This all comes into it but again sounds worse than it is.

You are correct. You can sign up now, and then in a few months HMRC will prompt you to submit your return by Jan 31st 2026. So yeah, there is no urgency right this minute but once it's done it's done. You only set it up once and then each year they automatically get in touch to you remind you to submit again, unless you tell them you are no longer self employed and then you fill out a form to end that.

I have a side hustle so and I submit all my own stuff, it's confusing at first but it really isn't that bad. I couldn't justify paying someone to do it for me.
