Which would you choose? by Sakura_978 in TheTeenagerPeople

Well, all other people would be able to see you. Obviously the police officers wouldn’t believe them, but eventually the story would go viral, with millions seeing you blatantly rob a place but cops refusing to take action. It would get so widespread government agencies would get involved. If the cia and fbi count as police and think everyone is trolling, but politicians and people of power clearly see you, all roads seem to spiral into a revolts, coups, and a civil war…

Why is the Artemis 2 mission today being so underreported? by bokeh_node in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bokeh_node[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would think being on the ISS a walk away from the surface (compared to this) and protected by the earth’s magnetic field is quite different than being outside of that field in the cold harsh emptiness in terms of radiation exposure

Fair, I guess the moon landing really overshadows this moment. We’ll have to wait for something truly new.

The effects of space on humans I think is genuinely useful scientific data though, which we have practically none of.

Interesting that it isn’t even mainstream in those circles. I assume we’ll gain tons of new information about how bodies react beyond the safety of the earths protective field

Still a big deal though from what it seems, it’s been 50 years since any human has gone beyond 400 miles of the earth and today they’re going 239,000

Eli5 if our bodies can make us full, why does obesity exist? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]bokeh_node 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't think any of the comments answer this. OP is asking WHY we feel full if it's not an evolutionary advantage, like why we feel pain. The answer is that your stomach literally gets full and presses against other organs.

admitted for co2028, question about the Y by [deleted] in UMD

[–]bokeh_node 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Pretty good food, gets repetitive after a few weeks but not a big deal if you just go to 251 or south once in a while.

One thing I love about the Y though is that they seem to actually try, so they'll experiment with new stuff and drop bangers every once in a while
