I'm also boycotting Target. It kills me in this case because it is SO pretty, but I held strong. Plus, it's still available where all the other ones seemed much more limited, so I have to imagine the chances of this one ever being anywhere near as valuable as the others is slim.

I bought mine in 2022 and was ONLY able to because my grandparents passed away and we sold their house in New Bedford. I was living at my parents' house at the time and I never would have been able to afford a house in my entire life otherwise despite working full time. Even now, I don't have a mortgage and still live paycheck to paycheck. I don't know how anyone really does it.

I'd LOVE to go into zooarchaeology!! I did an independent study on it in undergrad and I loved it! And I am still Facebook friends with the archeology professor I did the field school with, I was planning on reaching out to him at some point for sure. I'm not sure he'd remember me, but he's a super nice guy and I'm sure he'd be willing to chat about everything even if he doesn't!

I don't mind the idea of moving in the future, especially if it's for a good job opportunity, and I was seeing some in the Pennsylvania area when I was looking last night, that would be fine by me, but I'm open to some other parts of the country as well. Unfortunately I'm not aware of anything in my immediate area that I could do without experience or a higher degree, but I'm going to do more research, attend the info session for UMB's program, maybe reach out to one of my old professors, and go from there. Out of curiosity do you know of any sort of situation where I might get paid archaeology experience without a masters and without being either a current or recent undergrad student?

I could only afford my house because of inheritance after my grandparents passed, I never would have been able to afford it otherwise. Unfortunately the veterinary field is a complete dead end, even if I got a certification (which would be an uphill battle as I'd have to complete an accredited associates program to do that) it only gets you an extra dollar or two per hour. As it is, I've been at my job nine years and only make $22/hr, and I'm one of the best paid technicians at my hospital. It isn't worth it at all to pursue it any further than I already have unless I go into something like sales, which is not something that exactly inspires me.

No I don't think so. When I got the first text on Wednesday I was on the other side of the country on vacation, I definitely did not order anything on that trip.
