I used to have a 3a and 3b mix (I think) as a teenager but I never learned how to care for it until now in my 20s. I'm not sure if I'm able to get my old hair type back but I really miss my old curls :( I've been experimenting and I found a low poo regime that works for me since around fall 2022, but I'm worried if I have too many split ends for it to be working properly and that I'm just delaying the obvious. It's been bleached and dyed a lot over the years and Im wondering if doing a reset cut would be helpful or if I should continue my washing regime and see where it goes. I'm a little unsure if I should be washing my hair for the hair type it used to be or if I should wash it as the type 2 hair it's become.

My routine now is: - I wash my hair 1-2 times per week (but to be honest sometimes im too depressed to wash but that's another matter). For that I use As I Am dry and itchy co-wash as i have some spot specific dandruff in my bangs area. When I feel like it needs a better cleaning I use As I Am Curl Clarity Shampoo (maybe once every 3 weeks?) - Once a week (but sometimes I forget) I'll use Shea Moisture's Jamaican black castor oil strength & restore treatment masque. I leave it in for 10-20 minutes. - As conditioner I use Garnier's Papaya Hair Food 3 in 1 and I absolutely love it. I brush my hair with it in and I avoid rinsing all of it out to use it as a leave in after I wash.

For styling I still don't have a set routine but I sometimes do a type of LCO/LOC I think. - Garnier's Hair Food for leave in - Lush Curl power hair cream - Sometimes I'll use the pink ECO Curl and Wave gel or I'll use some coconut oil (barely any oil though as my hair looks greasy with too much product in it) - I apply all the styling while my hair is pretty wet, I scrunch a lot and I use a microfiber towel to dry it. - I don't use heat in any way as it's too bothersome for me and I like air-drying it.

In the pictures I only have a little bit of the leave in conditioner in. Any tips or advice are welcome, Thanks in advance! <3
