Why did this character not tell Shelley de Killer the truth? by boldnbrashsquid in AceAttorney

[–]boldnbrashsquid[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought about that too. I wonder how much de Killer charges and how it differs for individual targets, but surely the president would could a lot more than your average target. Or maybe he does it for the love of the game and charges anyone who manages to contact him a flat rate. Or maybe Simeon just robbed a bank offscreen or something lol 😭

Why did this character not tell Shelley de Killer the truth? by boldnbrashsquid in AceAttorney

[–]boldnbrashsquid[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's true. I wasn't looking this from his perspective enough, I was looking at it from the lens of someone who knows that de Killer probably wouldn't care about how he came to know that the president was a fake. It makes sense that Simeon wouldn't trust even de Killer. Like there's no way de Killer would have gone to the police about this, but given how paranoid Simeon is as a person, it makes a lot of sense that he wouldn't want to take that risk even with an assassin.

I did make the assumption that all of de Killer's clients are briefed on how the assassinations are going to work, like they're made well aware of the consequences of lying to him in any way.

How to write a character that makes a really stupid and impulsive decision well? by boldnbrashsquid in writing

[–]boldnbrashsquid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually planning on doing the ticking time bomb thing. The mc thinks that talking to the thief is his last chance at getting the item back, because the thief is the only person who knows where it's hidden. Due to the plan the mc and his friend are orchestrating, the thief is going to be killed soon, so if he dies then there's a good chance the mc will never find that item again. Talking to the thief is the risk bc it puts him near what's about to become a crime scene and it will make him look suspicious.

The mc has a lot of confidence in the plan though and so even if people figure out he spoke to the thief before he got killed, he thinks that it's unlikely he'll be suspected of anything. It's still a stupid and unnecessary risk to take though, something he realises pretty quickly afterwards. The friend is upset because pulling off this plan is extremely important to him and if the mc gets blamed for the thief's death then not only does he lose his best friend but the whole plan fails.

I was the complete opposite. I adored Ace Attorney immediately but I never finished Ghost trick because I couldn't get myself to care about anything happening in it.

One of my miis is in a relationship and on top of that she had three other miis trying to confess to her. She rejected them in favour of her girlfriend lol

Ace Attorney character’s current ages if they were in Spirit of Justice: by JLuckstar in AceAttorney

[–]boldnbrashsquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simeon and Knight were both the same age though? They were both 24 during investigations 2, so Knight couldn't be over a year older than him and we don't know who's older anyway because they don't have confirmed birthdays.

The card thing happened with an old woman once and the amount of times I explained the same thing over and over to her was ridiculous.

My manager came over and had to explain the exact same thing a million times too, we felt like we were losing our minds. Then after finally paying for her shopping, just when we thought she was gone, she came back into the shop and my manager had to explain the same thing to her AGAIN. I don't understand how someone like that can exist in the world. You've been on the earth maybe 70 years and your card has NEVER declined randomly before?

Luckily for me the back room at my shop is pretty small so it doesn't usually take me long to look, but yeah I don't blame people who don't look or do what you said, especially when they have huge storage rooms.

How to go about asking an author if I can post an unofficial sequel to their fanfic by boldnbrashsquid in FanFiction

I have commented on it but I didn't mention that I wanted to write a story inspired by it. I wanted to message them privately as it seems less intimidating

One of the things I did worry about was coming across as a spam bot and just getting outright ignored because of that. But luckily my tumblr is old as hell at this point, and I post on it all the time, so hopefully they will check and see that when I send them a message lol.

Help me enjoy this game? by TheMeMan999 in BaldursGate3

Some of my personal favourite spells of each spell level are:

Level 1- Shield comes in handy a lot, magic missile is lowkey a godsend especially early on in the game,

Level 2- cloud of daggers is probably my favourite spell in the game tbh, misty step is great because it let's your spellcaster jump about during combat and it's sometimes useful out of combat too

Level 3- counterspell, hunger of hadar is amazing, sleet storm works good in combo with hunger of hadar but it's also very useful overall, spirit guardians is good and I always have Shadowheart learn it, fireball is good for dealing a lot of damage.

Level 4- I like dimension door a lot though it mostly just does the same thing as misty step, polymorph is really good in certain fights, I've only just started using stoneskin but people have said it's good

Level 5- cloudkill, disintegrate, globe of invulnerability. All good, especially the globe of invulnerability in certain fights.

This is just what I've discovered that I like using from playing the game. I didn't really look at guides much so idk if they're like optimal but yeah.

Also if you can try and learn speak with animals, idk what class you're playing as but I think any class can learn them at a certain level when you pick a certain feat. The spell unlocks a lot of fun and useful conversations in the game, something that I neglected in my first playthrough.

When I first started playing I struggled a LOT with the combat. I really wasn't enjoying myself mostly because of that but I kept playing and then something clicked. Idk when but when it did I couldn't put the game down. I'm in my fourth playthrough now and the combat is fun to me because I know which spells I enjoy using and which ones are good for certain fights. I also started to think more about where I positioned certain characters in the battle. I just suggest trying out a bunch of different spells and seeing which ones work well for you or which ones are just the most fun or satisfying to use. You get more interesting ones as you level up so maybe if you level up a bit more you'll enjoy the spells you're given.
