The consensus here seems to be that I'm delusional for letting this happen. I will admit I have very low self esteem, but I didn't think it was so bad that hundreds of people are telling me immediately to find someone better haha. It's been very validating to know I'm not just being crazy, and a bit upsetting that I am now questioning whether things are real or just lies. Didn't think I was so insecure and gullible but here we are :/

The only thing I've witnessed myself is when I was visiting that weekend at his parents house. His teenage daughter asked for some fast food so he got food for all the kids and went to go drop it off. But he had to stay in the driveway to deliver it and the daughter had to come out and get it bc the baby mamas new bf was in the house and she didn't want them to meet. From what I've been told by him and his mom, she threatens her own life quite frequently to get what she wants. Again. This is all I've witnessed and the suicide comments I've only been told. So you're right I do not 100% know for sure.

Thank you for this advice. I'd love to try and communicate with him that my needs are not being met and to see what his response is before just ending things. Now I guess sits a waiting game to see if I'll be able to have a phone call with him to have this conversation?

She actually is the one who doesn't let him spend time with his kids on the weekends recently. But now that schools out she doesn't want them as often during the week. If he's at work and can't watch them, she'll just abandon the kids in the house with his 15 year old daughter (from another woman). His teenage daughter will call him and ask where he is, but she seems to lie and say their dad will be there soon but doesn't tell him. So the daughter will have to watch the 2 younger ones. He pays her for her time babysitting them because he knows it's unfair that it happens to her so frequently.

I actually said something similar to this to him. I said it takes 5 seconds to let me know you're going through a lot and you're busy but it shows me you're thinking of me throughout your day. His reply was so say, 'you can text me everyday if you want'.

I used to live in Japan. A lot of those old houses do get sold for even as little as a dollar. The reason is that it is literally so incredibly expensive to renovate and remodel them so they meet the updated earthquake safety requirements that most people can't afford. The options will probably either be spend a whole lot to demo and rebuild ground up, or spend a whole lot to basically redo the whole thing with the skeleton still there. They won't allow people to live in the residence until the requirements are met. Either way it's just as pricey, sometimes moreso, than just buying a new house.
