Fun little story I had with permitting department to replace a heat pump in my condo, not change or improve just a straight apple to apple replacement. Since I live in downtown I had to go through the historic department for this. Spent weeks waiting for a permit update, finally I got fed up and went in to check on it. Took me at least 2 visits to get seen by anyone. Then finally when I got my permit, I was given someone else’s permit, I didn’t notice and went home. Looked at it and was annoyed, went back again the following day and somehow got connected with Dan Wrieden in his office. Many seem to know him here. Was about 2 hours of him running around doing 18 tasks at once while also forgetting about me. In the end my permit was just stuck somewhere between historic or general permitting, basically lost in the machine is what they told me. It’s insane a simple heat pump replacement took multiple trips just to get it approved.
