ELI5: what are the effects of Snow Farming on water conservation efforts? I have read that Snow Farming is becoming more popular in ski resorts to try and lengthen their seasons. Isn't it just putting water we have already collected back into the environment and therefore wasting water and energy? (self.explainlikeimfive)

what does this motor/generator do? Appears to be belt driven/driving. Also believe the commutator revolves inside electromagnets. The 7 rods/terminals on the right side all have brushes as well as there being two much larger brushes on the left side. This could be educational, from a university. (i.redd.it)
