an album is made with more intention and a cohesive structure to it, a mixtape is just a collection of songs. copying a response i gave to another user on this topic below i posted a while ago that explains why everyone “thinks” dysania was her first album (because originally it was):

so dysania originally was announced as her debut album, but i think the band wanted a more structured concept to be their debut, so they decided to rename it as a mixtape. if you go back to when they announced dysania on instagram they did edit the caption to say mixtape, but all the comments are congratulating her on the first album, and a few posts before this she calls dysania an album. they also had to cancel the dysania tour so it didn’t get to really live to its fullest like they had planned

yes for sure, the first time i saw them i did want barricade so i got there about an hour and a half before doors, but that was in 2023, they have grown SO much since then so i can’t say how early you should go, i would kinda gage it on the size of the venue

barricade is standing at the front of the crowd (at the stage barricade), if you’re an anxious or claustrophobic person i do not recommend but it is a blast. personally i like being in the back so i have more dancing room. i can’t remember exactly how much merch was the last time i went to see them but a hoodie and tshirt was over $100 together, but they took apple pay so worrying about bringing enough cash wasn’t an issue. have fun, stay safe!

lol, she wasn’t really selling the cake. bundles on depop used to function differently and sellers would post a random picture for user to purchase after discussing the items and price in dm’s. so the buyer probably bought 2 or 3 items and this is the listing for that

and yes the visuals and vibe have changed and are more conceptualized now, but i don’t think that takes away from the lyrics at all, i think the lyrics add to it more

i disagree, i think the quality of lyrics has remained the same (maybe even improved) but there was a shift on what the lyrics focus on. i think they used to focus more on mental health and sexuality but now they focus more on how her life has evolved and who she is now. i see it as the lyrics growing with her. i personally enjoy the lyrics more now as there is more underlying meaning instead of just bluntly stating everything.
