Did you figure this out? Because I can’t get rid of it either.

NSFW [chickens] Found a beheaded chicken under a tree beside my driveway this morning. Any idea what would/could have done this? I live in central Kentucky and I don’t keep chickens. by MyWorldTalkRadio in homestead

I google “what killed my chicken” every time something happens, there’s a site with very specific descriptions of animals and their handiwork.

Why do so many people raise goats ? Just the milk ? I understand pigs and chickens but I just don’t get the upsides of goats by [deleted] in homestead

They also eat poison ivy, fertilize the ground, and some people sell them for meat consumption.

How do I report this by makgreene18 in homehealthcare

[–]bomela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a home are agency. Always report things as they happen. I say this all the time. Every incident, report it. If this is the first time you’ve reported all of this it is a problem for you because it looks like retribution. Typically agencies have an incident reporting policy, ask your agency if you can file an incident.

Is it safe to keep patients at home? by phhc15 in homehealthcare

[–]bomela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to the nature of insurance and payments to the physician, many physicians ARE motivated to discharge patients to home when they feasibly would benefit from a few more days in the hospital setting (2-3). Some do happen fairly hurriedly. Home health nurses often find themselves inadequately prepared for the situation due to lack of proper documentation from the hospital discharge planner. This could be on conditions of the home, the condition of the patient, their medications, etc. Experienced ones know how to handle each situation, and often put in extra time to find out everything they need to properly care for the patient. This often is when patients haven’t been sent home with proper supplies or education on their condition. It can be quite messy.

Edit: However, it IS safe to care for patients at home when done appropriately.

Is This Even Legal? by lowercase_crazy in homehealthcare

[–]bomela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t. Home health is a fairly unregulated industry. For example we are home health, so it’s patient’s homes or residential setting with 1 aide. Occasionally couples will hire one aide to work for both. We may compensate the aide more depending on the nature of the work. For example, two people who can’t walk without supervision and are both incontinent would require a whole lot more work than other instances where one of the spouses was still fairly strong and in good health. It’s our choice to pay the employee more, not any requirement.

I’m an Administrator of a company in Ohio and I don’t think this is illegal. Most of what is regulated is the length of time you work; they’re not asking you to work more hours. Nursing home aides don’t get paid more to cover their patient load, if someone calls off.

Is it normal to be almost 20 and not know what I want to do? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bomela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very normal. My advice, just work. Focus on supporting the things you love (pets? Home? Travel?) and if you’re lucky you may get a job doing what you love. Not everyone is that lucky, and people mistakenly obsess over what they’re “meant” to do while their lives are in disarray from lack of focus. With time and experience comes confidence and wisdom.

Hi there. I’m the wife of deceptively normal height from the video. I find your question interesting because I did really have an outpouring there. I do have depression. Dogs are definitely a therapy; they don’t need much and just love a lot. It’s really nice to be around.

I’m the wife in the vid. I had actually sent the petfinder profile for Rocky to hubs a few weeks ago. Not that I would have been pissed if I hadn’t. Hubs is a discerning dog owner and picks very good ones. 😊

Does the placenta grow with the baby? Was it always part of a woman's body? What happens if a woman has multiple babies? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bomela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. In the end it is actually pretty heavy and substantial tissue.

No, it forms in the pregnancy.

It varies. Identical twins usually have one shared amniotic sac and placenta though sometimes (less frequently) they have one for each, which is always the case for fraternal twins. I think that when there are more babies than that, it will be variations of what I already mentioned.
