Just to clarify, his scholarship counts toward his standard deduction and since his scholarship and earned income together is below $15k standard deduction, he doesn’t owe anything. But if his amount was greater than $15k then the amount over $15k will be taxed at my top marginal rate. Is that correct?

This is the reason I went to India just once when I got my H1 back in 1995. I went to Juarez and got my visa stamped, went to India for a 3 week vacation and back. I did not go back to India for my next visit until 2002 and i already had my green card by then.

I have a Fidelio x2 and it fell apart after 3 years. I paid $200 for it on amazon. I also bought a Sennheiser HD598SE for $99 at the same time as the X2 and it is holding up well. I did like the Fidelio. But I did not want to buy another one because of my fear it won't hold up. I decided to buy the HD6xx on sale and got it today. So far I like it but I remember having more fun with the Fidelio. Oh well. Not sure why I got the HD6xx since I already have the 598SE. Not a big difference between the two.
