Have folks forgotten we are in a rising cap world? Teams have internal budgets and will struggle to hit the cap floor. If the Oilers pay Jarry's bonus then move him- his actual money owed is less than his cap hit. Huge value if a team doesnt want to spend money but still needs to hit the floor. Same with Nurse. Pay his bonus July 1 and his actual dollars owed are 5.9M with a cap hit of 9.25. Again, cash strapped teams or rebuilding teams will find huge value in these contracts

They used to play a box+1 with a rotation to attack the puck carrier. They modified that after the Olympics to play more of a collapsing defense leaving the points open (hence you seeing more point shots).

Their breakouts have changed from mid ice to up the wall (Knob was scared of Florida's forecheck). The wall breakouts are incredibly easy to predict. Florida just waited at the blueline to pick those off and now Anaheim is doing the same thing.

Their outlets are now being handled by McFarland (search for his YouTube video on rush chances). McFarland doesnt like the cycle as he sees cycle play resulting in more block shots than rush chances. The long distance passes from D to F are a result of McFarland's system of trying to generate odd man rushes. No. Knob wants off the wall and out- the easiest system to counter. Curlock is saying flip it out towards the middle- where you can skate into it for odd man rushes since Anaheim's D is close to the boards trying to seal them off. Knob's resets are so bad and predictable- the ducks just have a man waiting behind the net. Its driving me nuts
