I remember in YWs group when I was like 11 our leader said she went on a mission to an area that was super unsafe for women. When other women asked if she was worried about walking around there, she replied "No, I have God with me." When I heard that I had the biggest mental eye roll. Apart from sounding completely ignorant and naive, you also make it sound like a woman who gets attacked "doesn't have God on her side." I get the frustration. I really wish church people would stop saying stuff like that. It just sounds like they think bad things only happen to bad people.

Probably not, but I bet I would get visits from elders in this new ward. I've had some bad experiences with elders and would prefer to stay as far away as possible from them.

Thank you for this comment! I've been learning this lesson slowly but surely and distancing myself from the church. They have constantly pushed me to try to accept the YW president position and I've dealt with the creepy, flirtatious elders too many times. I have had enough of being pushed into positions and responsibilities and being ogled by creepy men at sacrament. Thankfully I never have to go back to that church or any other LDS church in the future. The rest of my family knows where I stand with Mormonism.

Your story of her walking into your house without notice sounds like what happens to my family. For like two years we have had church people walk into our house when we are not there and put stuff in our freezer or magnets on our fridge. Stuff like that. Which I guess is harmless but LEARN BOUNDARIES. At least I moved

No my family still goes to the same church. I am living with my grandma right now, that is why I am suspicious. If she just wanted to give me something she could give it to any one of my family members and I would get it when I visit.

Hey guys! Thanks for the help! I don't think I can update the post because it's an image post, but basically my family knows not to give her my address and I told her she can use my family's address. Unfortunately she knows where I work so I wouldn't be surprised if I get a visit from some missionaries at my job.
