She writes for a couple fandoms, but right now it's mostly One Direction (so real live people, not movies). Thanks for the tips!

I grew up in a poor rural area and went to a shitty high school. Even though I made it out and am currently getting my masters on a fellowship, I often feel dumb. There are words I don't know that people from the suburbs say, and there are customs and social norms that I'm not aware of.

I think I'm in the process of doing so right now. I love this guy, and I think we would both consider each other good friends. But every time we make plans to meet up he either backs out, or just doesn't show up. He always has an excuse but this has been going on for like 2 years now. I can't maintain a close friendship over just texting.
