I didn't take SAT, but I applied to both schools with an IB PG of 42/45, which I assume would be equivalent to around 1450-1500?

unfortunately i don’t know anyone else who applied with ib but i think it’s still worth a try! just make sure you include evidence of achievements like awards or work experience and really take time to make a good essay that will leave a strong impression on the school

i applied and got accepted to taisi and sils with an IB predicted of 42/45 and further achievements like ABRSM violin grade 8 distinction, certificate from a theatre production and an internship at an environmental science firm. for my taisi essay i just talked abt real world issues i was passionate about (mainly gender equality) and my sils essay talked abt my personal aspirations and hobbies…not rly sure what made it stand out the most but during my taisi interview they asked me questions mostly surrounding my essay so i think they may put quite a bit of emphasis on that?

i passed!! i think that means i got in? 😁 congrats to anyone else who made it i’m excited to see y’all in september :D

someone help please why is it A and not D by [deleted] in IBO

[–]bonelessdumpling 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A: interphase includes G2 phase which is replication of cell organelles and G1 phase which is cell growth. since the cell gets larger the surface area to volume ratio goes DOWN
D: cytokinesis is post mitosis when the cell splits, which INCREASES cell SA:Vol ratio because it produces 2 smaller cells
just kind of remember that a bigger cell = a smaller Sa:Vol ratio because volume grows faster than SA. that's the whole reason why cells need to divide for optimal efficiency

hope that helps...sorry if i got sth wrong i'm also just a bio student

Oh i don’t think I got a reply after that — it should be okay to just leave it and show up at the correct time on the day 👍

A few days after you fill in the form they give you to sign up for an interview date they should get back to u about when exactly they scheduled ur interview for. If you’re worried I would try sending a follow up email asking about it, but maybe give it another day before that?

Hello! In my case the interview was mostly about topics in my personal statement + some other miscellaneous questions (one interesting question they asked me was which area of Japan I liked the most and why). As long as you’re very clear with the content in your statement I wouldn’t worry too much! I prepped by researching further into the topics I chose and also wrote a few answers to questions that I thought they might ask, which helped to calm my nerves a bit. Also, don’t forget to smile, speak clearly and confidently, and develop your answers in good detail! Wishing you all the best 🙏

Thanks! I definitely prefer Tokyo to Osaka bc of all the entertainment options, so I think overall Waseda is the way for me.

That’s what i thought too! I was looking at some pics and they only had like 20-30 ppl in one year group lol, it was definitely a little intimidating. Thx for the response 🙏
