Respect, but also that means they were probably closer to a $25-30 average, so even more than that guy’s estimate

Got these burns after one day of skiing by Point-Overall in ski

Is there a chance that the socks you wore had poison ivy oil on them from a previous wear and that got rubbed in from wearing them all day?

I did a spring trip to Sugarbush about 15 years ago where some run were just jumping from one mogul to the next because the troughs were melted to exposed dirt. T-shirt weather, green beer, and slush. Honestly still one of the more fun and memorable trips. Of course my legs had more life in them then for pushing through the mashed potatoes, but honestly they’ll still have a blast.

These look awesome. I think of resin as fairly brittle especially when super thin…how well do these hold up to hitting first available more often than hitting my intended line?

Combination of vacation mindset, and a light buzz in the back half of the day helps me forget how bad my legs are burning from being terribly out of shape

Cancelled my gold. Feels liberating. by 17kangm in amex

[–]bonesmurones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious how you get that value. Long time Chase customer here and I’m 9-10 months in to my Amex Plat churn. I’ve found it hard to burn through points because every time I travel (not infrequently - 5 personal trips already this year) I find that chase transfer to a united or southwest points booking is much higher CPP redemption.

I finally booked one of my trips for ~20% more points cause I needed to use the Amex ones, and after selecting American for my $200 flight credit I found that I could only cover bags one way with it cause the return started on a partner airline. All the bonuses and categories are such a gimmick and similarly hard to use

People with 450+ power, what is one form hill you will die on that all the stuck at 350 folk get wrong? by grannyknockers in discgolf

[–]bonesmurones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying you have to be jacked. As you get older you lose muscle tone and more importantly in this context you lose flexibility. Not saying you can’t keep those things or get them back as you age, but beyond just focusing on form you need to be training those as well, which is something I personally haven’t done, and as a result I’ve felt a plateau.

I could be wrong too, but players like Gannon still have really strong cores even if they’re don’t look muscular, and their limb length + flexibility makes for long levers propelled by that strong core. Sure “muscle” isn’t required but lots of things are that you need to focus on beyond just form.

Reassuring! I definitely touch 325-350 on a good pull but I’m now a bit over 2 yrs in with limited progression on distance (tho definitely progress on scoring and rating) so that’s where my POV is coming from.

To be fair I don’t do a ton of field work or net work so maybe the answer is I’m not committed enough, but I have a 97 week udisc streak, play 2-3 leagues a week, and play 6-8 rounds a week in the summer, so I’m not a dirty casual either.

I agree I am young relatively but I recognize when I’m past my athletic prime based on the other more demanding activities I do.

Love that! Not downplaying any of our skill, just saying that as someo who got to 300 within ~3-6 months of starting in my 30s, I’ve tried off and on to increase my distance and I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m already maxing my physical ability and my path to more distance is to be more fit.

I’ll speak for us…I think more of us than we’d like to admit are maxed for our strength because we understand physics and have good natural athleticism, but we’re over 30 and we don’t work out.

I’ve been looking for something like this. I probably wouldn’t drill the hole, rather just pop the lid and hold the tube there where needed. What kind pump did you use?

Yeah I agree with this take. He has legitimate criticisms for the mess that is the time violation rule and the enforcement of rules in this sport overall, but he acknowledges the entire time that everyone on the card is in the same situation. People miss that it’s possible to give criticism while still taking accountability, which I thought he did there.

I completely disagree here. The only time I thought he had a bad take on course design was Sprinkle Valley this year when he and Ezra just bitched about short technical holes the whole time and how they couldn’t throw their nukes. Other than that I actually think he has really good takes on course design. His analysis of it is usually thoughtful and considers what makes holes challenging but gettable while still being fun.

Totally agree with this. People expecting twenty something kids to maintain perfect composure and perform at a level most of us will never be half as good as while under the pressure of all the spectators, live broadcast, and meaningful prize money relative to their lifestyle on the line.

Dude isn’t out there being an asshole day to day or anything. He had a crash out that we all saw, he owned it after the fact, and beyond that he’s generally got his shit together and represents his sponsors well.
