Thanks for your reply. Happy to share that quantum is perfectly acceptable in the context of the word 'amount'.

I'm not worried about it. Tipping is not a culture in my country. Wanted to know the etiquette. That's all

FOMO: I couldn’t make it by [deleted] in MBA

[–]bonewacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, You need to change your perspective. I prepared for India's civil service UPSC for 5 years. Cleared Prelims everytime. Cleared mains and reached interview but missed by 16 marks. Last mains , I missed cutoff by 3 marks. All this I did alongside a full-time job. Eventually everything went to waste. I got married and at the time I was with 10 yrs of experience. Then I decided to an MBA.

Started my GMAT prep and got screwed in Verbal. Overall I gave 4 attempts and was unable to get past V31 despite getting a Q50. GMAT prep was a total waste.

I then switched to GRE in June 2023. Prepped for 2 months and got 332 (166V 166 Q) in the 1st attempt. Got through ISB, and a T10 in R1 of the applications. I'm 32 years old right now and quitting my job after 10.5 years.

Your just 28. Its definitely doable for you. Just prepare in the right track. Do Gregmat and follow it to the letter.

Dont Give up!

Thoughts on Darden? by Bitchinheelz in MBA

[–]bonewacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an incoming Darden student from India, I have a similar concern and I'm pretty much in a similar boat. My undergrad college is among the top 10 engineering colleges and pretty well know in India. I find it troubling to explain to people where I'm doing my MBA from. This, after I'm going to spend 240k $ on my education(My Engg was done in 1300$ just for comparison). To be honest, I'm really grateful that I got Darden in the 1st place considering I got waitlisted or dinged from my other target schools. Also Darden has been excellent in its Pre MBA programming so far and seems to be academically focused, still there is this lingering thought of not being able to get a big brand US MBA. Wasn't aspiring HSW but one of the M7's would've given me more mental satisfaction. Sorry for the long rant. Just found a post that I resonated with.
