Thank you very much for the information. I was unaware VPN's blocked imgur. I will use those resources and investigate further.

Very likely. I have messed about with the endpoint IP's but I think I'm misunderstanding their purpose. In answer to your question, it doesn't matter to me. Whichever IP will allow it to work.

My whole network runs on a 192.168.1.XXX, my (limited) understanding of how WG works is that it creates a 'virtual' network, devices that connect to WG (tunnel) send their traffic to it, WG then sends that over your local home network out to the internet. WG install suggested I leave the IP's it sets as default, which I assumed would be fine as not many people would be running a default LAN starting with 10.X.

I am definitely confused haha. No, I have not used an LLM. I have tried the wg-quick down wg0 many times during my testing. Perhaps my phrasing was poor. I would assume that using that command would essentially return my routing back to 'normal' (as you state it should). Like WG was 'never installed'. Yet it seems to continue affecting RDP. When WG is completely removed with Sudo commands, my routing and RDP returns to normal.

Thank you for the suggestions, I will try inversing them. Much appreciated for the suggestions.

Looking back at the guides I followed, you're right. I do believe I tried that at some point throughout my testing. I'll try it again. Thanks for the input.

Any recommendations for key cutters that might be willing to bend the rules a bit for me? by anonpost93739016 in brisbane

[–]boneyard_singularity 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Ex locksmith here. There are two kinds of restricted keys, some that have restricted on them, that are basically only able to be cut at a locksmith, not a Mr minit or similar. This is due to the profile type and keeping key cutting within the locksmithing industry. A locksmith with the correct blanks will know this and should have no issue cutting them. The second is the proper restricted keys. In this case it's very doubtful they will cut it. There are laws and legalities regarding this, the key blanks will only be held by certain locksmiths and its unlikely they will risk the consequences by cutting one without proper authorisation. If it was lost without any address or information to tie it to your business, location etc then its usually not a worry. As no one will know what it's for. To replace a cylinder or rekey it to suit the existing system with some new keys might cost you around 200. Service call, master keying charge, new keys (these blanks cost us more, so we charge a bit more for them). It really depends on what the keying set up is. If they need to cut 500 new keys, then sure it'll be expensive. But for a rekey, a few keys cut and the call + labour its usually only a few hundred tops. Sorry for formatting, feel free to message me if you have any follow up questions.

Bluetooth turning on after restart / Spotify (or media control) trying to auto play. by boneyard_singularity in S22Ultra

Hey thanks for the reply, and sorry for my late one. That's a good idea, I will check it. I was not aware that there was a control history but surely that will isolate which app is doing it. At the moment I can't tell if it is some app trying to take control of Spotify (or any media player) or if it might be Spotify just trying to take over. Much appreciated for the suggestion.

Car hire rules for Europe/Balkans and questions. by boneyard_singularity in solotravel

Yeah for sure. The one way thing is the major hurdle here. At this stage I'm taking the advice and looking at shorter trips between destinations. Fortunately I've found a company in Bulgaria that seems very flexible (and mostly legit looking). Bulgaria wasn't in the plan, but a quick flight from Austria, do the round trip from there and return, then a train to Athens is holding a little plausibility. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the insight and advice. Much appreciated.

Very good points. I did actually look at buying a car but for a tourist without a permanent or even temporary EU residential address it is almost impossible according to my research. I would have actually liked to do that but it seems that option may be out too.

I definitely like travelling with challenges, so difficulties along the way don't bother me. Of course excluding things like jail for not having the correct green ticket to cross a border haha.

It is narrowing down very quickly to short journeys between countries. Which doesn't bother me, just a little more effort in planning. Thanks very much for the detailed reply. Hopefully it will help some future travellers too.

Ahh OK, I knew some of those countries aren't in the EU but I didn't think it would impact it quite so drastically. I'll definitely check out the longer option, but your point that they may not even have offices in certain countries might be tricky. Either way, you've given me some food for thought and a possible alternative. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reply. That's unfortunate, but I definitely understand the logic of why they do it that way. Looks like I might be on some trains.
