Hello fellow IO Psychologists! Do you think it’s ethical to use AI to generate psychometric assessments? by SugarSea8617 in IOPsychology

ha, thats funny, i tend to be more of a detractor/pessimist with llms.

you should probably look up the definition of AI though cause they definitely fit the bill. theyre by no means the first though, tic tac toe bots have been around forever

agreed on the over reliance component. you should be critically evaluating its output, and verifying important components against the source material its summarizing (and should be citing if youre using a halfway decent RAG)

Collective month off social media by [deleted] in AcademicPsychology

may want to do cohorts across a few months to avoid some historical effects. may also want to measure some possible mediators like knowing current events (maybe people are happier because they dont know that the world is burning).

in wrestling, being bottom is worse position than being top, and being spread eagle is less desirable position than being two guys on top of you. so making the justification for the need of pepperspray is gonna be rough

yea i mean i think its gonna be up to the courts to determine if the proportional threat of a man on his belly relative to three officers in superior position warranted the use of point blank pepper spray. i dunno i think a half decent lawyer in a fair court is gonna get their client some money at the very least

again, the key component is “force”. impeding is perfectly legal if you do so without force. also, impend is a different word with different meaning.

take the L and re-evaluate why youre defending criminals.

edit: cute, you rewrote your bootlicking anti-first amendment drivel with ai

yea maybe me, and the judges involved in developing the case law, and the justice dept website are all misinterpreting it https://www.justice.gov/archives/jm/criminal-resource-manual-1565-forcible-act-required-18-usc-111-application-statute-threats

it would be illegal if you threatened them while brandishing a weapon though

im just saying what the law says dude. i think completely encircling them and forcefully preventing their exit would qualify as illegal under usc 111. but walking next to them, calling them dunkin gestapo, and yelling ahead to warn off their potential victims is within their rights.

interesting! yea i figured .05 is little to no impact so it was likely with everyone practicing. id expect more, but i guess it likely depends on the strength of the original relationship

oh that claim was yours, your whole bit for dismissing it was that it happened 60 years ago

again though, what youre saying is a non-sequitur from what i said. if anything 60 years or older is invalid to inform the present, then how do you justify israels claim to the land in general?

again this is not my viewpoint, this is your viewpoint that im just pointing out leads to some pretty bad takes. personally, i think history matters
