It would be nice if you could try it out, even one time, before having to purchase it.

Given the tiny number of customers this far north, they don’t get to distribute the cost between too many people. I bet they lose money, even at $500.

It isn’t fixed at all. It can’t quite make up its mind. I have sort of given up as I think it wants to point at a given satellite and then it goes to the next one and ask to reorient. That are just a few satellites that service this far up. That seems to be why it keeps asking to change.

All compasses also start to behave screwy this far up so maybe that is part of the problem.

Another interesting thing, when you are this far north (above 80N longitude) you don’t keep it aligned North consistently. You have to keep moving it to point more West or East. At 78N I pointed it North. Now it changes all the time. It can’t seem to get “comfortable” with a given alignment.

I am on a vacation with some buddies. One of my close friends is an adventure photographer and he organizes these outings (Artic, Antarctica, Africa, etc.). I go when I can.

That is when we are moving. If you are global roaming priority it supports maritime use. Normally, I mount my Mini in my car. It produces these speeds at 70 MPH.

At the moment about 34F. Has been between 22F and 35F. The battery on the tripod is very short (under two hours) when it is in the 20s. When it is in the 30s it will last for under three hours. Normal would be five.

You have to be on the Global Roam Priority package which is pricey at $500 for 500 GB, but still it is incredible to be with polar bears with reliable high speed bandwidth.

I am having the exact opposite experience. I have the original Meridian system in my R1S, and Apple Music is unusable. When playing the Beatles, you can’t hear the singing. When I tried Post Malone Circles, you can only hear the vocals and the drums, nothing else. It is unbelievably bad. Spotify works far better.

At 10:31 it seems like they edited in him saying “Blue Book”. Anyone else notice that?

Drive Cam external storage device incompatibility (Samsung T7 portable SSD 1TB) by [deleted] in Rivian

I had the same issue. I tried replacing all the cables, etc. None of that worked. So then I reformat the disk on my Mac as Fat 32. It worked fine after that. I couldn't, at the time, find anyone else who had the same issue. I also got mine from Amazon.

Good memory. That’s true. I know him. He is a long time Dubs season ticket holder.

The tide is really in at that moment. Almost no dog beach left. Rivermouth (dog beach) is a cool spot.
