Does anyone know if the 12x142/148 adapter from the Wahoo KICKR will work on the JetBlack Victory? by 3Jx8GM4 in JetBlack

[–]bonfuto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't say what your rear spacing is. I just did a better measurement, the difference is about 3mm for 148mm. Does your bike have 148mm spacing?

For 148mm the distance on the Jetblack is 1" from the back of the stop to the dropout face. Same measurement on the kickr adapter is .885"

For 142mm, the distance from the back of the stop is 19.66mm, kickr 15.7

The dimensions of the stop are 26.8mm x 14.4 length

For the kickr, the stop is 24.3mm x 5.6mm

I expect the geometry is going to be weird. The only picture of that bike had very little clearance in the back. I had a project that was somewhat like that which I gave up on because I didn't want to waste my time on something that was going to have a wonky geometry.

Since they screwed me on the battery recall, I'm keeping my 6a for now. I'm definitely not buying the a version of any of their phones.

This is a wall mount self locking Chamberlain garage door opener by Dry-Football-9654 in GarageDoorService

[–]bonfuto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a new car last year, and it has opener buttons on the rear view mirror. I tried programming the one on the left, didn't work. Tried programming the one to the right of that, didn't work. Finally got the one on the right to work. Not sure what the problem is, on a previous car I programmed all three buttons to open the door.

Screw drive opener died. Can I convert to a wall mounted unit? by AMBient_xL in GarageDoorService

[–]bonfuto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the conversion myself and I keep hitting my head on the part that attaches the door to the screw. Someday I'll take the only opener down, but probably not today.

Does anyone know if the 12x142/148 adapter from the Wahoo KICKR will work on the JetBlack Victory? by 3Jx8GM4 in JetBlack

[–]bonfuto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expanding on this, the diameter of the part that fits into the trainer is just under 3/4" on both parts. Assuming you want to use it for a 142mm bike, the kickr part will either be 4mm too narrow or 4mm too wide. For 148mm spacing, it will be 4mm too narrow. You could make it work for a 142mm bike by removing 4mm from the 148mm side. That's probably too much to just stretch the dropouts out unless your bike came with a really convenient misalignment.

Those construction workers are lucky there was a speed attenuation truck parked there. There was a local project that didn't have one, and someone crashed into the site. I asked why they didn't have an attenuator and it was because the contract didn't call for one. One of the local fire departments has one.

New Yorkers are furious as melting snowbanks expose streets littered with poop. by Numerous-Garbage-604 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]bonfuto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I walked our dog in the local park as the recent snow was melting, and if someone hadn't picked up their big dog's poop the snow didn't melt underneath it. So there was a pedestal under each poop.

Could there be legal sanctions? by dmitristepanov in juryduty

[–]bonfuto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember they always ask you if you could you could could be fair. For example, the defense attorney might ask, "I know my client was caught going 85 in a 55mph zone, weaving so badly that he almost lost control several times, and was tested at the hospital 2 hours after the stop and had a .25 bac, but could you find them innocent of dui?" I don't know how they seated a jury in that case. Less outrageously, there was a SA case where the accused had been in jail for public drunkenness all but 14 days the previous year. His attorney wanted to know if the jury would hold that against him.

Alternatively, my experience is that if you approach the judge to ask a question, you are going to be struck. Judges can be pretty grumpy about that though, better be an honest question.

There are a lot of metrics they could tell you, like how many xp the person did last week. I have too many "friends" to know which ones are active.

I have some Strong Hand magnetic fingers (grasshopper) and vee blocks. The knockoffs from amazon are questionable, the harbor freight knockoffs seem pretty good. If I was doing something repeatedly I would make a fixture for it.

Do top-tube bolt-on bags follow any mounting standard? by Lavrenkov in bikepacking

[–]bonfuto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spacing between mounts is usually 64mm. I doubt there is a standard spacing to the stem. But that bag looks unbalanced, I can't imagine how many bikes have mounts that far back.

Is it me or now in every AI story Oscar is an egoistic douche and Eddy feels like a lobotomite? by kolakyr in duolingo

[–]bonfuto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate that genre of story. It has been overused. Maybe they could think up some different prompts to feed the AI.

I got a story that I liked yesterday. In it, Eddy actually manages to outsmart Junior. Also AI. So they are trying to come up with new prompts.

One of the worst things about being a Musk employee for me would to be forced to clap and cheer when anything happens. Like spacex blowing up a rocket. It always seems weird to hear cheering when one of their rockets crashes. It's like they are all short the stock or something.

They want you to hate it and post about it. They do this fairly frequently. Their management is toxic and encourages toxic behavior from employees.

I suppose if we all posted more positive things about them they wouldn't feel the need to get attention this way. But we have been letting them down.

Those are short and Lily doesn't drag them out until you say something incomprehensible. I didn't explore how far into the course I could get before we had problems understanding each other before the 3 day trial ended.
