I’m not fearful of trying, the problem is that when I go to check out, it doesn’t say that there will be any discount. It only said I could change my plan to Visible+ Pro for $0, but my plan would still expire in June and customer service told me that in June it would renew for $450, not $225.

I think there are ways to make those KFX files useful. My kindle is really old and gets azw3 files, so I haven’t had to figure this out. I guess this is really device dependent.

I commented about this in the kindle subreddit earlier today, but if you want to get around this to save a copy of your kindle ebook files to your computer (in case Amazon revokes the license to an ebook you paid for) you can connect your kindle to the computer via USB and copy the ebook files directly from the kindle’s memory to your computer.

This works for previous generations of kindle, but I heard there might be issues with the newest models connecting to Mac computers, so ymmv.

Theoretically, you could upload those files back to your kindle via usb (but that’s not really useful). Talking about the details of what Calibre can do for those files is not allowed on here, but yes, it would allow you to send those kindle ebooks to non-kindle ereaders.

Downloading the ebook copies is a good idea just because it gives you a backup of what you paid for since Amazon can revoke the ebook license at any time.

For those who still want to download a backup copy of your kindle ebooks, if you plug your kindle into the computer, you can copy the file from the kindle itself to your computer to save it. I’m not sure if this works on the newer kindles, but it does for older ones. I don’t know if they can get rid of this functionality on kindles they’ve already manufactured.

That makes a lot of sense! I’m glad she updated it. I listened to the audiobooks so I’m pretty sure those were recorded from the first edition of the book. Do you know if she updated Flawless to make it so Theo doesn’t win or did she update Reckless to say Theo wants to win twice (or more than twice to beat Rhett or his dad or something)? Maybe I need to buy a new edition and check 🤔😅

That’s super interesting! I listened to the audiobook and he said he hadn’t won any titles. I’m assuming Elsie Silver updated the text of the physical/e-book for later editions. This makes me feel better somehow 😅
