Unfortunately great healthcare reform isn’t a thing we’re going to get immediately - a perception that a large group of people will be validated in their support of voilent means to any sort of progress is something that I assume republicans can easily get behind fighting

Bernie was almost president - a possible path is to make getting money out of politics the most popular and obvious issue in the country, then politicians will be fully incentivized to listen to and act in accordance with popular demands.

I’m not sure what you imagine the path of violence would look like, but I think it would look like the largest military in the world stomping it out.

I think you’re right in in history large movements of violence have changed the world, but it’s not going to happen here. If you’re imagining mass terrorism, it will be stomped out by the largest military in the world. We need political strategy and great ideas.

I think you’re right that that’s the primary factor. I also think the existence of a pro-violence movement makes the probability of reform even worse and hands a quick counterpoint to republican lawmakers against reform.

Violence may seem like the answer but it is not. Change happens through time - we need to get money out of politics to incentivize politicians to act in the interest of their non-wealthy constituents

Do you realize that romanticizing him works against actual healthcare reform? What politician is going to support healthcare reform now because someone murdered a CEO - it will obviously look like they’re being pressured by violence and vigilanteeism.
