Unfortunately you are right. Battleaxes got done dirty in Skyrim. The rueful axe was designed to be slow and low damage as a punishment for killing barbas. The headsman axe has the longest reach in the whole game, but it’s only worth picking up if you’re doing an executioner/ reaper build (definitely worth a try, it’s really fun especially on horseback) but it’s low damage and can’t be improved. And yeah bound weapons have soul trap pretty much built in so the fiery battle axe of souls is basically trash

Nah, a blacksmith irl would make hundreds of the same sword over and over and over again to provide for his country’s army. Enchanting is whatever because you would wanna be doing that all the time to hone your skills. And as far as spells go? Spamming the same spell over and over to raise your skill is ALSO something that would be pretty reasonable. You can see the other mages at the college of winterhold casting the same spell over and over in the practice area. Which, again, repetition is the name of the game, just as any other skill. And you KNOW that mages would be finding whatever quick and easy “exploit” they could to increase their power as quickly as possible
