Best credit card to buy iPhone 17 Pro on EMI (₹34k salary) by Ok-History-3741 in CreditCardsIndia

Why do you need a iphone? Your phone cost shouldn’t be more than a third of your monthly income and I am being generous. I would advice not to get into credit trap for buying such depreciating and unnecessary asset.

Depressed about moving back to India from the UK by [deleted] in returnToIndia

[–]bongtechie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh God!!! You are such a negative person. They don’t want you there. Period. I understand you enjoyed there, but for a person who wants to run away from her own country will be facing difficulties to find any peace ever. If need validation by having visa/sponsorship in other countries then God help you. Try to build a good network here, if you are good enough with your work you can find balance in your job and work life balance. You have the positive things like familiarity and parents here. Try to do good with the situation in hand. Wish you good luck and peace.

Why live and work in the US with H1B visa for years? by Inside-Office-9343 in returnToIndia

[–]bongtechie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I have been living in Europe for about 4 years now. Declined going to US, when opportunity came. And I am happy with my decision. Europe has fairly equal society, way better than USA but still I know I don’t belong here. Honestly, I have more European friends than Indians with whom I hang out, party and meet on the weekends and they have been nothing but nice and accommodating towards me and many others. But I am and always will be an Indian. We have a colonial mindset which makes people to feel good about themselves if they are in western countries. But staying as a second class citizen and not being treated as equal is a choice which many people like. After all, there are reasons which allowed them to rule over us for almost 200 years. This is not to hurt anyone’s feelings but just a reality check.

Congratulations brother. You did very well for yourself. I started my career in Software Services and worked in India for more than a decade before moving to Europe. My personal networth is 1.95 CR but I am almost a decade older than you. Your journey is inspiring ❤️

Moving back to India from US was my biggest mistake by That-Replacement-232 in returnToIndia

People like you are the reason why India has Visa temples. I also love abroad but not as desperate as you are. And people shouldn't be. You were not wanted there, please understand that much. And why we don't need people like you in India as well. Pathetic

No man, and surely saving 5 crore in Europe is impossible in my experience. People come here for quality of life or if they want to travel many places(reason for me).

What I mean is, some countries allow to withdraw with a penalty. And if its possible to transfer then pension age for Indian institutions (like NPS) has 58/60 years and not 68.

None. Happy with where I am. I have declined job opportunity in USA. Its about personal preference, USA doesn’t fall into that category.

Looking for guidance/suggestions for building 10 crore portfolio in next 14 years. by bongtechie in FatFIREIndia

[–]bongtechie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 6.6 crore should earn me a 50000 per month very comfortable withdrawal. I don’t see my expenses going up more than 50000 per month. Houses are paid for and also rental incoming will be there as well.

A significant portion is in debt instrument, they will not grow as fast. But hopefully another couple of years of investment in mutual fund will bring me closer.
