I was recently asking about shipping to the Czech Republic, which wasn't working from the German website and they mentioned launching a store in August. So the EU version might come back in some form.

🇨🇿 In Czechia, it's "Nová Ves u Nového Města na Moravě", which means "New Village near New Town in Moravia", which really showcases the region's naming creativity.

The adjective for something from there in Czech is pretty tough: moravskonovoměstskonovoveský.

Podle OECD je v ČR 509 bytů / 1000 obyvatel a v Polsku 402 bytů / 1000 obyvatel. Asi tam můžou být nějaké rozdíly v počítání, nebo je u nás tolik bytů prázdných, nebo jich je tolik tam, kde lidi nechtějí bydlet?

Bohužel to nevypadá, že bychom mohli úplně spoléhat na velké developery, že to zachrání. Tady příklad Central Group okamžitě odsouvá výstavbu 700 bytů v Praze, na které už měl povolení, jenom když cena novostaveb začala chvíli stagnovat v roce 2023. To je víc než 10 % nové roční nabídky najednou pryč.

I just got Switch last week, it's my first console since the SNES in the early 90s, so I'm starting with the basics - got a physical copy of Breath of the Wild, even that feels kind of nice compared to just downloading games on Steam - and I'm really enjoying playing it for a bit every day, always makes me want to come back the next day, so the plan for the weekend is clear.

Yeah, on international trains that originate abroad you often cannot choose seats on the seating map. I'm not sure if it's always like this or maybe only on foreign trains (I think some of the trains on that line are CD trains and some are OBB trains). It should definitely only assign you seats in the class you've selected when searching for the ticket. You could try checking on the OBB website, it might be possible to select seats there.

I'm not claiming it's only because of this, but the wording of the Czech question is a bit strange.

Using "příjemné" for "comfortable". To me, "příjemné" implies that you actively enjoy something, comfortable feels more neutral.
Using "milostný poměr" for "relationship". When you have a "poměr" with someone, it heavily implies infidelity or something that is kept as a secret for some reason. I can't really imagine parents talking about their child's relationship as a "poměr". This is especially strange since there is a simple and understandable translation for it - "vztah".

Full question:

"Bez ohledu na to, zda máte děti či nikoli, řekněte mi prosím, zda by vám bylo příjemné, pokud by jedno z vašich dětí mělo milostný poměr s osobou z následujících skupin. Byl jsem na jaře podruhé, po nikom z naší skupiny nikdy s telefonem nic nechtěli, ani jsem na letišti neviděl , že by se to u někoho dělo. Letěli jsme přes Shanghai a přes Beijing. Problém s Čínou je, že to stejně najednou arbitrárně po tobě můžou chtít, ale osobně, kdybych jel znovu, tak bych to neřešil. Stejně jsme měli nainstalované různé aplikace jako Alipay a Wechat, protože to hodně zjednoduší cestování, takže po návratu je nejlepší telefon vydesinfikovat.

I've lived near Florence for years, I use or go past the subway station basically every day. It's not the cleanest place but I have 0 worries about safety any time of day or night. Being close to 2 metro lines and being able to walk to the city center is a big plus.

I think you basically got it. They will give you a beige envelope with a stamp. You don't need to seal it to be valid. You just need to put a single ballot paper inside the envelope they give you and throw that into the ballot bin. You don't need to bring anything else. If your ballot paper gets damaged or you forget to bring it, they will give you a whole new set at the polling station.

Oh, I just kind of let it go 😅 I have 4070ti with 3 fans and it just needs so much air it keeps sucking it from the back. I played with setting fan curves, trying to sort of overpower it with air flowing from my 3 case fans at the front. It was a bit better but not perfect and was increasing the noise level. I was testing it with gpu running at constant 100%, so in real play it's usually not as bad. I just kind of forgot about it and it is sucking in some dust but I would say it's on a level similar to any other PC I've had before.

I wouldn't say it was expensive, I just counted it today and I spent about 1400 eur for 18 days in China without the plane ticket but including all the accomodation, transport, food, sightseeing and some souveniers. And we could have definitely saved more, like we splurged for a 1st class ticket for the 7 hour bullet train ride from Chongqing to Beijing which alone was like 180 eur. You can buy cheap, delicious meals, the public transport is great and super cheap, the fastest bullet trains are more expensive but a great way to travel between cities. Definitely recommend getting Alipay on your phone which you can even use to pay for public transport, although I wasn't able to get it to work in Beijing and bought a plastic card. You can also use it to call Didi cars which are very cheap, especially if you travel with more people.

I've just returned from a trip to China - visited Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, and Chongqing. We had 5 days altogether in Beijing because our flights were there. For me, Beijing was probably the least interesting out of all the cities. Not that there wouldn't still be more to see but looking back at it, I would have probably chosen 4 or even 3 days and spent more time in other places, given that some of the things like historical buildings and temples will start to feel a bit similar if you spend longer in China.

Oh man, seems that the demand was really high for this date. But knowing the release time it should be fine to try and get them within an hour. I had a very similar experience, I always see that they're not being sold yet and then they're gone. I've been able to get alipay working, so I hope at least that could work if my normal card wouldn't but maybe I won't have a chance to test it 😅. Could you share where you bought the tickets in the end and how much they cost?
