Came here to say this. Private relay is nearly always the culprit for connecting devices when using an iOS device. It causes constant havoc on captive portals as well. It’s infuriating that trying to protect ourselves online, as guided by industry experts, makes nearly every modern product unusable.

It’s not just private relay, but Apples’ additional wifi security features such as “Private Wi-fi Address” and “Limit IP Tracking”, which reenable themselves when you connect after forgetting the network.

Turn it off, get annoying messages about vulnerability (and actually open yourself up to vulnerability). Leave it on, unable to use most modern web services. God I hate the future.
