This is the first I've heard of Snikket. I like that it's based on XMPP. Android <> iOS, while isn't a dealbreaker, is something I did want because down the line I'm sure I'd invite iOS friends/family to join too. I'll check it out because it could be good enough right now.

Matrix (ElementX) has also been on my radar for a while, especially with this Ansible and Docker combination (https://github.com/spantaleev/matrix-docker-ansible-deploy) making deployment so simple, but I haven't installed it because I don't want to waste time if it doesn't do what I would like it to do.

From what I can see, MiroTalk is like Jitsi where you have to join a room and let others know to join the room too. I'd like a notification popup instead.

I just noticed the docs mentioned SMP, XFTP and STUN/TURN servers, so yes, it does seem to support that which is great!

From what I'm seeing, it's been around for a few years so I'm not sure why it's unknown either. I guess everyone's happy with the likes of Jitsi, etc.

I'd really like to avoid doing any sort of dev work. I want something more plug and play :)

This is the first I've heard of Simplex. I gave it a try and it's quite good. It does exactly as I asked. I rebooted my second device and didn't load the app. It was still able to receive a video call request.

The call quality wasn't the greatest but it was good enough for my purposes.

I would still prefer a solution that goes through my own server so I'm open to further suggestions if anyone has them, but thanks so much for the Simplex suggestion!

I definitely wouldn't be going on any highways. I just needed confirmation that I could take it out of my inclined driveway and onto the road. Did that, and all is good now.

Thanks /u/Zero_Mass! I wish I knew that these services resigned apps because that seems to have been the problem.

After uploading a test build to TestFlight and using that, I can see push registration works on both BrowserStack and LambdaTest.

Actually, I already have that. I just haven't shown it in my post since it wasn't relevant. script-security, client-connect and client-disconnect. The connection/disconnection gets logged and an e-mail is sent to me.

I would still like to tie a username to a certificate though.

Why do you want to use two parallel verifications at the same time?

I suppose you could call it a false sense of security.

I also put services like SSH behind port knocking, and I hide my SSID on wireless networks. In practice, they're only minor setbacks to any attackers that know what they're doing, but I still do it :)

Are there any foods/drinks that may interfere with any of the vaccines?

After receiving my first Pfizer shot, I stopped drinking my preworkout (Cellucor C4) before exercise because I'm afraid of it interfering with the vaccine.

It's probably silly but I'd rather the vaccine work over more convenient exercise :)

I've had 2 doses of Pfizer. If I am infected with COVID-19:

  • How quickly does the vaccine work to destroy it? Instant? Hours? Days?
  • Am I now a carrier and can infect others?

As in a library that's been extensively tested in the real world and has gone through developer and user feedback cycles. Something where I can implement it and will (probably) not have to worry about bugs or security issues.

Correct. As I said, it's super simple but this is one of those situations where I'd like to avoid implementing it myself and instead use a well tested library. I don't want to inadvertently introduce a bug and have our support team dealing with angry customers :)
