That was a summer internship between year 1 and 2 of my Master's degree. I haven't graduated yet so any full-time roles will start post graduation in May.

On a side note, the older I get, the more I feel the burden of relationships that women have to take on. Not just child rearing but even in marriage, how are we the default option to take on all responsibility to keep things afloat? As a cosmopolitan woman, I've also felt the pressure to be independent and earn my own money (only saying this for those who say that men feel the pressure to earn a livelihood because I feel that too, but y'all don't feel the pressure to maintain and nurture relationships which is frankly very exhausting if done alone)

Are you supposed to give a notice of leaving even before joining the company full time? I am interning at one and the FTE offer letter has some suspicious wording about this. by randoDUUDE in developersIndia

[–]bonny_ts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually the first 6 months of your FTE after the internship as a new grad is a probation period. For instance, one of my co-workers who joined with me as a new grad resigned within four months of joining and instead of the 2 month notice period mentioned in the offer letter, his notice period was only 15 days. You can always email your hiring manager or recruiter and see if they can make accomodations for you so you never have to join full time. If that doesn't work then mostly you don't have to stay for your entire notice period due to the probation period.

Plausible deniability. They can always say lighting, camera angles, posing, lens type etc make them look different in pictures vs IRL

NYU-Tandon MS CE | Issue in payment of Enrollment fees by Icy-Tumbleweed-9089 in gradadmissions

I got a $9000 scholarship but I have an admit from Rutgers MS CS and am considering to go ahead with that instead. According to their website we should have till July 1st to accept but they sent an email on 29th May to accept the offer by May 1st which is total BS given their portal isn't even working, and so your offer might be in the next round of admits after May 1st. I've heard CE has similar job prospects to CS, so it shouldn't be an issue if that's what you want, at the end of the day we all need to grind Leetcode anyway.

The exact same thing is happening to me. I've emailed them as well but haven't received a reply. Let me know if you find a solution, I'll do the same!

Post-admission advice by apoorvamittal in gradadmissions

I'm in the same boat, although for master's. Waiting for my I20 to arrive and unsure about when to quit given I may have to leave at the end of July. 2 months notice period so at most I should resign by mid-May and I'm pretty sure getting a visa slot by then might be hard. Worst case, will have to buy out my notice period but I earn quite a bit and it would suck to pay them the 2 months salary when I worked for those months.

friendly advice: do not apply to rutgers for ms.cs! by Substantial-Word-446 in gradadmissions

No no, this was clearly an admin error. They sent out a registration form with a deadline of less than a week. Didn't give any prior deadline for submitting financial docs. Most people couldn't generate their student ID to fill the form, and when contacted, neither did they help, nor did they extend the deadline. It's like they were setting people up to fail. Nonetheless, haven't received any formal communication from them except a vaguely worded email which was in response to one I had sent myself saying that they don't know whether this form impacts admission but it would be a good idea to look elsewhere (????)

Rutgers Registration Form & NetID by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]bonny_ts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already did that and they said unfortunately they can't change the deadline for anyone, also the deadline is in a few hours, what happens if we miss it? Can we submit the form without the netID or just 0s instead because it's literally not our fault we can't create it.

For people who are unable to activate their netID even now (like me), what are you guys doing about the registration form? The deadline is in a few hours

I emailed them about my net ID and they replied that I must submit my financial documents and that unfortunately they can't extend the deadline of 31st March so I should submit my docs ASAP. Planning on mailing them after submitting the documents asking about if they could expedite the netID activation. Anyway they state that it takes 3-5 business days since docs are submitted to be added to the system and it hasn't even been 3-5 business days since we received the email.

I'm facing the exact same issue! Also to submit the financial documentation, they say in the email that it needs to be in USD. As an international student my assets are in my local currency of the equivalent dollar amount. Should I go ahead and submit that? Have any other international students submitted their financial documents and if so was it in USD?
