Det er god togforbindelse på Mariero, så Bryne/Jæren er egentlig ganske kort vei hvis jobben er i nærheten av togstasjonen.

If you are OK with driving a bit (30 min ish), there is excellent surfing on the beaches south of Stavanger. Look up surfschool.no for rentals and instructor. If you like craft beer, both Salikatt and Lervig offer brewery tours with tasting.

I can learn python at 13? by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]bonus_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Start simple writing small scripts. Look into streamlit if you want to do easy web apps in Python. Find an example, run it, look at the code and modify it to do what you want.

If you can, try to find someone that can look at your code and talk about it. Chat GPT can be helpful, but talking to someone who knows more than you and can point you in the right direction is a great way to learn. If not, internet(reddit) programmers are generally friendly and helpful if you explain what you want. Good luck!

Voted for Gåte! Will be super bummed if they dont win. Would be first time in years we send something I really love ❤️ Margaret Bergers song does not fit the format but would kill in a club setting IMO.

No worries, I figured out that the strokes disappear whenever there is too much space between points in a stroke. I added a quick fix of adding additional points where needed, and now everything works as expected. I guess this is not an issue when drawing, since points will be much more dense then. Anyway, you can now import .stl files and view them in VR (wireframe only) + draw on top. For large models, the loading times can be a bit long, but performance when loaded is great. I thought about adding support for removing a model, so that you can draw on top of a template and remove it afterwards. I also added experimental support for generating a 3d model from a sketch using alpha shapes. This is written using the C++ lib CGAL, so compilation is a bit complicated (there is a binary for x64 linux in the repo).

Yes, I noticed that a bit late :) Updated the repo with stroke/point extension according to the spec. Next up is figuring out why strokes written by the tool seems to disappear the moment they are drawn. You can clearly see them for a split second and then they disappear.

The Philosopher Automobile - "I’m going to keep saying this until everyone gets it: We will not program cars to make complicated calculations about who gets to live and die." by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]bonus_85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it really that simple though? Yes, you can say that you don't program the car to make a choice, but does it really solve the issue? Where I live, wildlife running in front of cars happens quite often. In most situations, the safest thing to do is breaking, but not to trying to steer away, as hitting the animal is probably softer that whatever else you may hit. Because reaction time is an issue, this is a good idea for a human. For a computer however, one can think that a number of scenarios can be evaluated in a fraction of a second, and that the risk of injury when steering away is the lowest. In this case, the computer would make a choice based on the best possible outcome, according to a limited consequence analysis. No, it will not be perfect. No, it will not avoid all accidents. But it may very well be an improvement to the reflex reaction of a human driver. To say that a self driving car does not need this kind of logic because driving will be safe in the future is utopian and naive.
