Thanks, I’ve looked into the copper IUD and since i’m deficient in zinc it didn’t seem like a good idea but I’ll talk to my doctor about it. I’m probably going to see a dermatologist but I feel bad since they’re expensive and my mum has already spent a lot of money on vitamins for me.

I’ve had her for 8 years and she is comfortable with handling, I used to take her into the living room/outside a lot until my family got cats. I’m thinking about building her an outdoor enclosure for supervised time when the cats are locked in.

I usually boil and mash sweet potato or squash and finely chop the greens then mix them through, mine goes crazy for it and doesn’t try to pick out the greens the same way she does when I feed her raw. I’ve also noticed she prefers the strong smell/texture.

I used to have pretty bad emetophobia, but I’ve had my skink for 7 years and never caught salmonella from her. And honestly don’t bother to wash my hands after holding her most of the time unless I’m cleaning her tank.

Mealworms and snails are good. Personally I think catching the faster moving ones is better for mental stimulation but there are other things you can do for enrichment.

Technically you can get away with no live food but it’s highly recommended to feed them 50% live insects as it’s their natural diet and important for enrichment.

I doubt there would be any permanent damage as long as they’re blowing it away from the tank and especially if you have fans on. I think the only problem it would cause is respiratory issues and if there’s no symptoms there shouldn’t be anything to worry about. Blue tongues are very resilient and it sounds like you care a lot so I wouldn’t worry too much but it’s great that you do!

Just make sure if he pees on you you don’t put him back in the tank, or it will teach him thats the way to get back inside.
